2010G BSC Coming For FVU

They lose their payment. That is the payment they pay. If I buy a Kings Dominion ticket and decide to go to Disney instead, do I just lose my KD payment or do I also need to pay for someone else to go to KD. What you said is so depressingly dumb. I weep for the Springfield children. FVU will keep their payments. They will sign someone else and take their payment. 2 payments to train 1 child. The warning signs were there, you closed your eyes to them, now you want to punish children. For what? Because little Susie’s team is now not as good as it is once was and you lose bragging rights that your DD’s team won the MA?

20 plus players have left FVU including some of the top players from 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008/07. There is a reason why the BRAVE leadership has had more last place finishes than champions league appearances on both the girls and boys side. You can’t fix stupid.

Lol! you mean they tried to take that many players but not everybody drank the koolaid, including the 2 hour commute and 25+ rosters!

I’m a current Union parent. Not all players left for Bethesda. Players left for VDA, Arlington, NVA, MD United, as well as Bethesda.
It was a poor decision not to bring back the coaches but we move on and hope for a good season.

Union didn’t lose actual coaching talent, but the optics were bad. If it was JUST the players leaving to Bethesda, they’d be fine. It’s losing players on top of that to VDA, Arlington, NVA, etc. that is damaging.

Players leave clubs every year for other clubs or teams. There's a reason there's a tryout period for everybody. This regular movement always occurs in all clubs. But bad optics is the shady shenanigans by BSC once players were already committed and right at season start.

Typically clubs keep their better coaches and get rid of the ones that don’t do well. Typically clubs don’t get rid of coaches that make it to Richmond. Typically after a year when 100 percent of players/parents from a team going through the college process says they will not return if a certain coach (MV) is coaching again, clubs don’t promote that person to ECNL Director. Typically clubs don’t need to lie about who will be the coach at tryouts.
Yep keep blaming Bethesda for your problems and then you wonder why there is a mass exodus of talent. Typically clubs don’t need to beg the ECNL to step in to stop players from leaving if they actually had something worth staying for.

And typically people are honest, but not here. It was known in early Spring which coaches were out so this was long before playoffs and Richmond. 100% of players did not indicate that as clearly many more chose to stay than go. All coaching slates were known before tryouts (but for 09s the head coach & asst coach were flipped later). Investigations into violations is ECNLs prerogative.

You are the dishonest one. ECNL only did the investigation because FVU leadership are cowards and have nothing to sell. The coaching slates for FVU were known but the coaches that the majority of parents wanted (as well as CW) did not have a club at tryouts.
It is not dishonest to change teams so stop with that nonsense. FVU would have added any player in tryouts that was good enough for the team as they don’t have limits on number of players they could add. Any club should be able to deal with 3 players leaving.

If you didn't like the coach, you shouldn't have signed up. This is the problem with VA soccer. You sign up for a club and not the coach. If all these players knew they were leaving, then why not decline the offer?

But they said who was coaching them and it wasn't NM or ML.

Right. They committed and now regret it. Fine. They should pay for the year and pay the fee for a replacement player and then they can be on their way.

And that right there is a significant problem: there was no integrity when it came to honoring their commitment made months before to the team. Soccer is a team sport and this matters! And what's worse is the timing was right at the season start, not during tryouts when their positions could have been filled.

From what is relayed on these pages sounds like they lose a lot more than their payment. Reputations matter, especially in a key recruiting year!

You sound desperate, SYC mom. College coaches won’t care that a player switched teams. They will care about FVU playing kickball, MV style, though!

I'm a parent from the FVU 2010 team and all I can say is, lets move on. What's done is done. Parents decided to take their child elsewhere so get over it and worry about your child. We won't be the #1 team but who cares. Worry about getting your child recruited and not the wins. I'm so tired of hearing about this.

If ECNL is going to be a league that ascribes to standards and rules, they can’t have players hopping from one team to another whenever the hell they feel like it. The league has to hold member clubs accountable, otherwise it ceases to be much of a league.

That’s all well and good, until 4 or 5 other players from the 2010s roll out for VDA or Arlington or Bethesda in a month or two…just watch.

Then take your kid with them.

Exactly. Everyone on all age groups is worried about winning and bragging like they are in a pro team playing for $$$ and titles. Makes me wonder if these parents have a vacuum they need to fill out by living through their children which is appalling and shameful and require medical attention.

You can barely string together a coherent sentence, but are here to provide free psycho-analysis - Fantastic!
