I'm curious how other TSJFC girls academy parents are feeling about the season so far. Nobody likes to talk about it on the sidelines but we're all watching these games and it is tough to lose like this game after game. Despite the good intentions of the coaches we don't have the players to compete in this league.

What is the morale heading into the East Regional for U13 and U14? I can't imagine it's good.

What is the plan for next year? Will South elevate their 2014 team to play U12 GA1 (as a U11 team)? Are there any girls on the 2013/2014 North team that are GA worthy?

Why are people talking about morale as if this is a pro team. They're kids, the club is in a rough patch, this isn't an exclusive situation either. TSJ had success before, now they're trying to rebuild.

Morale only matters for pro?
Mental health is important for all.


Rough patch is one thing. Losing to SYC 14-0 is another.

It's not that we are just losing all the games. It's that the games are not competitive. The ball is in our half the entire game and we are just fending off shot after shot.

What did people expect? the talent pool was already diluted (too many ECNL/GA clubs) so let's add 2 more GA clubs to the mix, dilute it further but every team is going to be competitive?

The idea was to combine the best from the south and north squads... but many families are bailing (and many quality players bailed last year to go to McLean, Arlington and SYC instead of driving north) as most families from the south squad don't like the idea of commuting an hour in traffic 3x per week to fields in the north. The would need more centralized fields (which they don't have) to do a better job of combining North and South teams.

But at this point, it would make more sense to have the South Team represent a bulk of the GA1 team, but the St James is maxing out of field space also. Unless they get more field space, the St James seems to make more money renting the fields out to other groups. Who knows what they'll do. The new director, will probably just keep everything up North.

What happened to the new GA director? There was a post on social media awhile ago but still no mention of her on the website? Did she already have second thoughts like the last GA director?

Some families will taking an offer because they prefer to be on the worst GA team than a competitive NCLS or EDP team.

Worst team is fine. Someone is always the worst. But not competitive is a disaster.
