All the programs I like appear to be either in VA or in the outer reaches of Maryland.

Great news for Lightridge HS. Former TSJ and George Mason coach is hired to be girls soccer coach.

DR is the very worst coach. How could LCPS let this happen. He was basically fired from every coaching job he ever held. George Mason fired all the coaching staff when they didn't win any games. He was a volunteer coach and none of the players at Mason liked him. He also liked to verbally fight with his 11 year old players. TSJ let him go after that and is all the better for it now.

US soccer making him a coaching instructor is kinda telling as to why this country’s sport is such garbage

Rockville sportsplex had futsal in the winter.

US Youth Soccer is struggling as is the sport in general because they constantly favor the "standout" individual player and not the balanced team player. This is true of many US sports in general. Selfishness trumps teamwork.

Ahh so this is a 2010 GA2 kid/parent. That team was dog water. Yes TSJFCV is doing awesome in GA and now NCSL (gross).

He also wasn't fired from Mason. Manya was. The new coach chose not to keep the holdover staff.

Ok, DR was let go, terminated, etc from George Mason and FCV, but not fired. The entire 2010 team hated him. He would literally fight or get into tit for tats with 11-13 year old players. One time he almost got into a fist fight with one of the dads.

Did he ever really coach a GA team or ECNL team as he claims? No. He would show up as a fourth volunteer assistant and then claim he coached these teams.

The above poster is either him or one of his two friends. This person has no clue how to coach let alone develop players. He’s also goofy. This will certainly turn into a disaster for the high school team he will be coaching.

His MO is to favor really bad players, make bad substitutions, fight with kids, and lose soccer games. Watch how his future team ends up in the tank 2-3 wins after a fairly successful year.

Again, those 2010s were dog water.

Tired of parents with athletically average kids claim these kinds of things. So your recommendation is to take the less athletic/skilled kids?

You take the best talent and give them a coach that can make them play as a team if they believe that is best for their development.

Who uses a term dog water? Let alone to describe kids. The coaches select their own teams and then say they are terrible. Youth soccer requires a coach that can DEVELOP kids. Coaches that just seek top players and win games are not coaches, they are frauds. Watch what happens. It may take a year or two, but the track record speaks for itself.

These clubs are getting paid to develop kids. Taking an athletic kid and not developing them, allowing them to do whatever they want to show off their athleticism is doing a disservice not only to the particular player but to all players in the club. The clubs fail. <----- That's a period.

You literally argued something the PP did not say. PP said make them play as a team. You attacked the strawman of "not developing them, allowing them to do whatever they want...""

Try and do better. Dont't act like the usual trolls who infest this place. Dishpit.
