Bethesda Soccer On Way Down

Have a daughter on the 2011 ECNL-RL team - has not been a great experience. The coach is not qualified. Often cancels practice and lies about field availability. We joined BSC as they had a strong technical reputation. Unfortunately the coach does not know how to teach from both a technical and tactical perspective. We are a kick and chase team and often get results because we are more athletic than other teams. We made the playoffs last year so there is no oversight from the club. 2 high quality players were cut in favor of the coach bringing in her friends kids. The girls get no direction or feedback and are kept in the dark on why they are not playing or even rostered. I would rather a yeller who will be straight forward. Like other parents on the team, we do not speak up as we are afraid of retribution. Hard to believe we pay so much for someone so grossly incompetent.

I would hope that fear of retribution by a soccer club doesn't prevent people from speaking up for their children??? I would gamble to say this experience is not isolated.

This goes all the way down. U little top and second teams have coaches moving games for no reason, not procuring refs for these relocated games, and yelling at the kids who don't pass to their two favorite players. I do not understand how anyone can say this club is a top their club outside of trophies they bring home sometimes.

Wow. Thanks for not removing this thread. Just another example of how desperate these coaches are trying through any means to cover up their tracks of abusive actions against kids and families. For some of them BSC is their business and sole source of income and they can’t afford to go down with it. Problem is that instead of running a things correctly, they think they have total control of youth soccer in the area and that they can play with a kid future by intimidating and threatening. They are not good human beings. In the long run (or not that long), all the truth will come out.

This is very, very wrong. Guess is you joined and DD is not getting minutes. Coach is strong. Also she does not pick the players, the club does. No authority to bring in “friends kids”… it’s all the girls ECNL leadership. That team is friendly, kind, and welcoming, with minimal drama. After 8 years of travel socccer, we have seen it all, and this team is solid. Take your sour grapes somewhere else.

If you're on the second team, I would go where your kid will get playing time. It's not the end of the world to lose 1 year. She's young and has plenty of time to find a new team either in the winter or next year.

Wow - struck a nerve. I will tread carefully on the specifics.
But, This is not a sour grapes situation. it’s about getting the same level of commitment and training from the coach. It’s not hard to see the other BSC teams get high quality training sessions on the same field while this team is standing around waiting for a drill to be explained that was obviously just googled before practice.
The post is a actually a compliment to BSC and the only sour grapes is why can’t this team get the same level of training and expertise as the other teams.

BSC is not too big to fail…or at least get called out online for their unprofessional practices that are that are counter to their stated mission. Karma is always a b…

Very true. A lot of bad karma out there coming back around...I guess I'm more sad for the kids and parents that deal with this stuff. There are other options

Because they were all sock puppeted by the original poster. I left one thread up, but locked, in order to demonstrate all the posts that were from the original poster.

The person who started the thread posted all but three posts in the thread. The poster did this with a number of threads, essentially faking interest in the topic.

Basically, the person who wants this thread to be deleted is convinced that one person is using this thread to make Bethesda look bad. The poster then started, and faked replies to, several threads to retaliate against that person. What the Bethesda poster doesn't seem to realize is that there are many critics of his club, not just one person. For awhile, the Bethesda poster would report posts and allege that they were all from the same poster. But when I checked, they were all from different posters.
