She should force their hand. It's worth a year's pay. |
But they can also negotiate a resign plus payout |
I so hope you are right. |
She’s only entitled to the severance if a judge determines that MCPS breached the contract in a material way. Firing her for cause isn’t a material breach. It’s a shame she’s using reputable people just to get a payout. |
She should sue the people who have had it out for her from day 1. She inherited the Biedleman mess and has done a decent job. People are just looking for a scapegoat. |
She inherited the Biedleman mess and has done a decent job of making it into an even bigger mess. |

Post the rest of your Twitter thread. |
You do realize that if she sues MCPS will be free to disclose all of the derogatory information about her, right? That’s going to make it rough for her and make the people who supported her look pretty foolish. |
You do realize in that disclosure there will undoubtedly be unfavorable things about the district, its policies, procedures and practices or lack thereof that will make the district look bad. And that affects things like recruitment and retention. Not to mention potentially provided way for additional lawsuits. |
Or to return to the sweetheart Discovery Channel Education gig that likely awaits….. |
I’m not sure what this has to do with litigation but suing MCPS might make her too toxic for Discovery Education. |
Retention is non-existent. Staff at all levels gave been leaving in droves over the past 2 years. We thought the exodus during the pandemic was bad. It's so mich worse post pandemic due to what is going on. |
You know who was responsible for implementing policy and procedure as a matter of state law? The superintendent! So if you have no doubt that findings on policies, procedures, and practices were lacking, then you agree that there’s cause for terminating the superintendent. |
Dana Edwards, mentioned earlier on this thread, is now on admin leave. |
