If the intended audience is the posters on this thread, then I think calling us Nazis is not particularly effective. Oh and there are two additional misspellings: - dam rather than damn - can not rather than cannot |
Dam or dam' for damn is standard going back centuries. Historically, the spelling for cannot/can not/can't is also eccentric. The PP is calling "Moms For Liberty" a Nazi org. Understandably, given that they not only literally quoted Hitler, but then also approved of quoting Hitler. Are you a member of that group? If not, then the PP is not calling you a Nazi. If you are - well, I'm tired of that stupidity too. |
Moms of Liberty is protesting LGBTQ books in schools but they have nothing to do with dumbing down the coursework. The whole post the PP wrote was nonsense. And you trying to justify some obsolete spelling of "damn" is hilarious, but shows how much you're willing to twist yourself in knots to align with the PP. Just say you agree with her and save the performative and neutrally objective tone you're trying to pass off as legitimate. You back MCPS and feel the way things are is fine. Say it with your chest and stop hiding behind smoke and mirrors. |
Hoo boy. |
There’s absolutely no evidence that anything posted here criticizing MCPS is at all related to that organization, so it’s highly alienating to be accused of being part of them. |
But the PP was not accusing you of this. Why would you feel accused if the PP was not accusing you? |
She implicitly affiliated the posters criticizing MCPS with that org. Why bring it up otherwise? It’s 100% irrelevant to the conversation on this thread. |
Have you been following the news? It's absolutely not irrelevant to the state of MCPS or public schools in general. |
Actually they do. Too privates offer the classes in their course catalogues, but that doesn’t mean said courses are offered each year. It’s still dependent on the amount of students registering for a class. The smaller class sizes often means some courses won’t be offered. |
Teachers and budget have answered this countless times. They can’t attract teachers because 1) Teachers are sick of parents , 2) Private industry pays better than public. Same situation that exists for non profits. 3)When funding gets cut, education is always first on the chopping block., 4)Politics. At what point will folks accept this as the reasons. |
But none of that has been reflected in this thread. That poster is just trying to derail the conversation. |
Provide us with actual evidence that the advanced math courses in the course catalogs are often not actually offered. |
I agree that students should be able to have access to opportunities. However, people need to stop comparing public and private. The models are completely different, starting with who can attend, the number of kids, what has to be offered, and even the applicable policies that must be adhered to. It’s an grape to watermelon comparison. |

Will ya’ll get over the punctuation and misspellings. It’s an anonymous board with people likely being autocorrected. It’s not a scientific paper being reported before the Surgeon General. Get a life. |
