Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
|
I still didn't get used to the gadget. I find it so, hm... "modern".
I know it's safe and kids tend to run in public but I still can't accept people are putting children on a leash instead of teaching them to be good listeners. Oh well, flame away... |
lol |
| Why is this woman smiling? |
| I have pictures of myself on a leash when i was a toddler, so it is definitely not modern. I think it's a great idea (too bad they don't have flexi-leashes like they have for dogs!) but I agree it is jarring to see. |
Judge not. Unless you're done having kids. Your next one could be the one who legitimately needs a leash.
|
| All I think of is that SNL sketch with Mike Meyers in a kid harness. LOL! |
|
My mom is a preschool teacher and says, how she wishes they had those when I was a kid!
It's easy to judge others when you haven't been in that situation - other kids are not as perfect as yours, apparently! I think parents are smart to know their kids' limitations at a given age. We take so many precautions to keep our kids safe and this is just another one. |
... another ugly one...
|
| I'm totally getting one for my 14 almost 15 month old. I'd feel a lot better about letting him walk with me at the mall. PS, you can't teach a 14 month old to "stay." |
|
This is definitely not something new or modern. There is a picture of my 65 year old MIL wearing a harness/leash as a toddler.
I never, ever thought I would consider using one until one of my twins started walking a few days ago. He is very strong, fast and, at 13 months, not a good listener. |
| OK, modern or not I find it so ugly and it just shows us how "lazy" or incapable we are regarding teaching our kids basic discipline. |
Do you have children? Because it takes years to teach them discipline. The leash is for toddlers, not "kids." |
| Seriously...every time I see a kid in a "harness" they are always crying. It is an interesting coincidence. |
My friend bought one for her son and every time she puts it on him, he starts barking.

Well duh! DS is always laughing and giggling hysterically while he bolts down the aisle with me breaking into high speed to catch him. I don't use a leash but only because I'm a fast runner. |
