Gotta love the Fairfax one-party rule. |
Why should Democrats expect to "fall" for acting like Democrats in a majority Democratic county? That's stupid. |
Stupid is forgetting the lessons from Terry mcauliffe’s loss just three short years ago. You may wish the boundary agenda was popular, but it isn’t popular even in deep blue Fairfax. Frankly, it’s this boundary crap that threatens reversion back to purple and red. Anyone who ignores that reveals herself to be a stooopid 🤡. |
. Most voters in Fairfax either will not be affeected by a boundary change, or will not be aware because they don’t have school age kids. Yet many more are watching, and might even be affected by federal job cuts. |
Most parents here are two-faced. There's right for humanity, and there's right for their kids. When it comes to kids, most parents here are very conservative though they would not admit it. Agree with those who point out that most voters are not parents with school-aged children. They have no idea what is happening. They think things are the same as they were when they were in school, and the status quo is fine with them. |
They will notice when property values go down because of uncertainty with schools. DOGE could have an effect, but the boundary study will have a huge impact this Spring on those who want certainty in schools. Houses will not sell fast. |
DP. I wouldn’t assume all Democrats are cut from the same cloth. NoVa Democrats are fairly centrist by nature and not to be confused with the Berkeley/SF variety. The School Board is well to the left and no one really cares or pays much attention unless they do something out of the ordinary, which would include major county-wide boundary changes. At a time when people are already feeling unsettled, that will not go down well if that’s what they end up doing. Different story if they do just tinker at the edges or primarily adjust some ES boundaries. It’s changing the MS and HS assignments that are more likely to really piss people off. |
"NoVA Democrats are Republicans if you ask them to live principles they are proud to talk about. Better keep them happy--run under the label of "democrat" but act like a republican if you want to keep your position." |
Many voters will be affected by the boundary changes as property values and home prices fall. Especially for those who lost jobs and now need to move somewhere else to find work. |
Are you kidding? Nova democrats are nowhere near the center. They are very far left, particularly at the local level. |
Won’t some home prices go ip as well? I read that on this thread a few pages back. |
*go up |
Doubtful. Uncertainty. |
I read that current Lewis and Herndon families were looking forward to the boundary changes because their home values would go up with the addition of UMC families. |
I just saw that - doubling down on the idiocy, I see! WOW. |
