Fairfax County Double Murder

Miller is the re-assigned detective who made the report about the devices that concluded Christine would have been the source of the fetlock and telegram activity. He made this conclusion based on digital returns that showed the activity was done from her devices only when she was home.

There was internal dissent over this because the catfish theory had already emerged. Miller is still employed with the department as far as I know.

On the stand Carroll left a question way too open ended and instead of just asking whether the digital data changed, he just generally asked if anything changed. And Miller said something like “yes, the co-defendant testified that they were the ones using the devices.” So then Carroll quickly said something like “well okay but the data didn’t change, right” and Miller said no but you can only establish that a device did something and you can’t put a person behind a device without outside corroboration which now we have.

None of these are exact quotes obviously

SF is the victim services coordinator with FCPD who arranged the hotel room for Brendan, Juliana, and the child that night and Juliana and the child were waiting in their office too. Carroll brought her in because she is apparently a catfish theory truther, having become aware of some info that day/night and testifying that she had serious concerns for the child’s safety from the beginning (very valid, in my opinion. I was extremely concerned for the physical safety of the child every day that Brendan was out between the murders and his arrest). There were some text exchanges between her and others basically showing their belief in the catfish theory. I get what Carroll was trying to do, but imo because he was kind of disorganized and asking extremely open ended questions, it didn’t work out at all.

Thank you! So interesting.

BB’s letters to JM are vomit inducing. Glad the jurors get to read them. He doesn’t mention Christine,
or his daughter for that matter. He speaks a lot about how he has never had a connection with anyone like he does with JM. How deranged to not just get a divorce and choose murder.

I agree they’re vomit inducing. I also think they’re him further attempting to manipulate the situation to avoid her flipping.

Please don’t say that. She is not him and has nothing to do with the choices her father made. She is going to be a happy, healthy, normal woman. I am sure CB’s parents and sister will get her whatever she needs to reconcile with her past and move on with her life.
Don’t be this person.
Children that come from happy, normal families can turn into monsters and vice versa.

No way. She already has his genes. And she has the worst trauma any human can imagine, losing her mother at such young age. And on top of it, add the trauma of knowing you dad did it. She will never recover from this.

Fortunately, human beings simply don't work this way.

Yeah, one of the nicest guys I know-dad is war criminal.

Whoa, you weren't kidding, yikes.

And also, these letters and messages make it seem like he WAS in love with Juliana which is so weird. Picking baby names, writing about using her shampoo, spraying the pillow with her perfume, what type of wedding he wanted... I can't even tell if it's fake or if he's that hard up. Maybe once the murders happened he wasn't able to hook up with women so easily.

Yet in the 7 months before her arrest he did not marry her, despite her visa expiring. I think he was playing to her to keep her from flipping.

No, I thought BB testified he owned 2 guns + service revolver?

So he gave her one earlier and told her to get the other. Possibly to make it look less set up.

Anonymous wrote:Regarding the audio, and the CW's rebuttal expert vs. the defense guy who testified about the dog noise: am I understanding correctly that the CW expert listened to the first 911 call, and heard a human voice on there after he isolated some of the noises? So that audio is theoretically available to anyone based on the exhibits released, and who has the correct software?

YES
And someone linked to the audiofile a few pages back

Okay. CW knew that for whatever reason they weren't going to get the testimony in what was said. She only had to ask the question and have the sidebar. There are 2 audio files and I bet that jury is doing what I just did.... play them over and over. And "Hang up" would certainly fit the beat.

That was my guess!!!!!! That it would have BB saying “hang up” or “disconnect” or something like that. But can you really hear something without running it through software? I’m not so sure CW expected to lose on that one, but the defense reaction definitely let the jury know whatever was on the tape was damaging.

I believe the "human voice" being referred to is at the 11 second mark of the CW1 exhibit, the first evidence admitted on Jan 13 ("CW 1 02-24-23 07.47.32 (703) 511-8466 - Tow1 (5497).wav")
https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/apps/highprofilecase/

It sounds like either 2 quick syllables or 2 percussive beats/sounds to this untrained ear. If it's "hang up" it seems quicker than natural speech patterns. My ear doesn't actually interpret it as human voice, but if the expert actually was able to establish that with technology then presumably hang up could fit.

PP, shame on you for condemning an innocent young girl. You're no better than Brendan. And what's with your weird fetish for genetics. Sounds like you just want to lash out and hurt somebody.

Two guns are in play here. A Glock 19m that was an IRS issued duty weapon.. no revolvers have been mentioned. The second is a Glock 43x.

BB fired the initial shot into JR's head with the 19m. JM had the 43x in a sweater pocket when she left the house with the minor child for the trip to the zoo. JM returned with the 43x. JM testified that she had the 43x in her pocket, when BB fired the first shot. BB directed JM to go to the safe and open it... JM didn't understand why but she went and opened the safe. returned from the safe and fired the second shot into JR.

The 19m is a (more or less) full sized weapon. The 19m has a large magazine capacity. The 43x is a more concealable, smaller, lower capacity weapon.

By sending her to the safe, was he trying to plant her fingerprints? Is that why the defense made a big deal about the safe not being dusted for prints?

Even if she knew the door code just be being next to him, why would she know that it also happened to be the code to his safe?

He testified she saw him putting his work gun away multiple times back in the safe.

He must be a complete idiot (not surprised, a lot of them work for feds) to write those letters AFTER the murder, regardless if he killed his wife or not. Complete idiot.

Our home model is very similar to the Banfields. The master closet is not a huge space to be shared with another unless you’re explicitly in there together. It’s not the kind of place where you randomly cross paths and happen to catch a glimpse of someone typing in a code into a gun safe.
