Just found out I landed a new job while my boss was screaming at me

I am sitting in my office on a call getting screamed at (well, our whole team is) when I got the e-mail message on my cell phone. I am getting a promotion in title, a 50 percent raise, my wife can go part-time finally, I am getting 8 weeks of vacation a year, they are putting 18K in retirement for me (and I can double it for the tax benefit), and I don't have to hear this woman yell at me and call us incompetent (we're not incompetent, we're just not mind readers).

I've been here less than a year, but I haven't worked with someone who is so difficult to communicate with. Don't e-mail her small messages, it clogs up her in-box, but do e-mail her once you finished ever task she's ask, but do it in bulk batches, but do it often enough so she feels like she's in the loop. How often? Don't ask her, use your judgment. Don't stop her and ask for minute, don't knock on her door, don't ask for time on her calendar (which is purposefully blocked), don't talk too slowly, don't talk too quickly, don't interrupt, don't let silence hang, it's a waste of her time SPIT IT OUT.

I cannot wait to hand in my notice. It's a freaking Christmas miracle, people.

Congrats!! I’m jealous at the 8 weeks of vacation! I didn’t think that existed in the corporate world!

Congratulations! Kudos to you for taking steps to remove yourself from a terrible job.

Honestly, OP. I don't know what your problem is. Can't you just talk at a normal pace? And why is it so hard to do all your tasks simultaneously so you can email her once saying you've completed them all at the same time. God, some people will find anything to whine about.

J/K! Get the hell outta there, and don't look back!

LOL. Yeah OP, your email was a little long, but didn't contain the salient points. You should have had more detail, but cut it down to keep the message crisp!
Haha. If you miss her in 2018, you can come on here to get "screamed at" I guess!
Well done, you.

OP here. I will be working for a woman, but it's totally fine! I've worked with some amazing women. This boss is just a bad human (boss), but I wouldn't say her gender has anything to do with it. I've known men like her, I just didn't work with them.

I cannot wait to begin anew in the new year! Best wishes for all of the DCUM folks for a better 2017.
