Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University

I see the other side is like - it was a public execution, but when it's a classroom full of kids - well we need to keep our guns to protect ourselves.

I feel bad, but...

Just because you can get more to the right of charlie kirk doesn't mean he was not extreme in his views.

Nice to see that conservatives are trying to calm things:

It’s trumps MO.

Create the problem.

Blame the democrats for the problem.

Do nothing.

Take credit.

Why? Kirk was not a politician, statesman, or a public figure that would have warranted this.

He was a shock jock just like Rush Limbaugh

From Wiki:

Kirk posted on Instagram in March 2024 that "The 'Great Replacement' is not a theory, it's a reality." Alongside this statement, Kirk shared a screenshot from a Fox News story headline that read; "7.2M illegals entered the U.S. under Biden admin[istration], an amount greater than population of 36 states."[100] After Elon Musk was widely criticized for endorsing an antisemitic post that referenced the Great Replacement Theory and blamed "Jewish communities" for supporting mass migration, Kirk defended Musk, stating that "Jewish communities have been pushing the exact kind of hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them."[101]

So appropriate.

I felt really sad reading his tweet. He’s never said anything remotely that genuine and kind to ordinary Americans. But sympathies for a beautiful blonde woman.

How do you think this response was in comparison to Melissa Hortman's assassination?

She was not nationally known.

She was assassinated in cold blood because she held elected office by a Trump supporter and anti-abortion activist. She was the Democratic House Speaker.

+1. Democrats on here can say it's terrible that Charlie Kirk was gunned down and you can't even bring yourself to say it's terrible that this Democratic lawmaker was also gunned down?

Didn’t see have her own thread? This thread is about Charlie Kirk.

Indeed, but MAGA are claiming Dems are gloating. They aren't. They are just stating the obvious - there is some irony of a man who stated that we have to accept people will die in order for us to be able to own guns being shot to death in a gun free zone.

-Independent who thinks the gun violence here is out of control, and the 2A nutters aren't helping.

Why would anybody gloat? What's clear to me is that both parties (in our artificially divided world) are using this horrible tragedy to promote their agendas.

Creation of martyrs is never a good sign for the future. It always leads to more chaos.

He was a Trump supporter. That's good enough in his book.

The person asking tried to follow up by asking how many mass shootings there have been in the last 10 years, and Kirk got shot before he could answer. The answer is 5,300. Mass shootings by trans people is less than 0.1%. Yet the right wing seems to think trans people are the problem. Majority of mass shooters have been straight, white and male.

He did not say five, he said “too many.”

This was a political assassination.

So political assassinations only count when they are of Trump supporters? Got it.

He did. Here's some saying that it is the cost of liberty. I a poor violence and I'm sad that he died. But it looks like he died for what he believed in.

I used voice text and Siri does not like me. What I tried to say is Charlie Kirk is on record saying that gun violence is the cost of the freedom to own a gun. While I abhor gun violence, and wish we would get all the guns out of the hands of everybody, it looks like he died for what he believed in.

I do feel bad. If he had lived he might have changed his mind about gun rights, like James Brady, if you know who he was.

Sure, as soon as the right wing dials it back and gets off of its disingenuous high horses of guns and the who and why of gun violence and agrees to start help fix it.

But until then, no. You started it, right wingers.

Actually I’m a Democrat!! People need to cool down. This is what happens when we have an armed & crazy society, but let’s not shoot each other god’s sake

Did Trump tell a Gold Star wife that her husband knew what he signed up for?
