Don't you mean, "dummy"?

The "DCUMMIE" you are deriding is referring to people who post here. It is derived from the website's name.

Sidwell loses to Flint Hill 46-0.

Still doing this? Really?

Manifesto McRant: I've had it. I am so tired of what appears to be one mean-spirited poster targeting one school and, for the most part, one team.

Who am I? I am not a Sidwell parent. I am not a Sidwell graduate. I don't have children who play football. I do have kids who play sports at other DC-area independent schools. I do have good friends who graduated from Sidwell, and a couple who teach at Sidwell. I do think it is incredibly nasty to constantly harp on the fortunes of one team of high school kids, some of whom are as young as 14, mocking their efforts when unsuccessful under the mantle of criticizing the "state of Sidwell athletics." I believe that as much fun as crazy DCUM world is, occasionally it would be good to lock a thread, but I get that that is not the policy and I respect that it's a policy that has worked well for this very successful site.

So, I am going to start posting results of other Sidwell sports teams in this thread, and lots of them. And I'm going to bump other threads up when the Sidwell Football Stalker posts their usual mean-spirited responses.

Sorry, but I'm just tired of reading this stuff for a year.

1. LOL. The Sidwell boys soccer team plays a cupcake schedule. When they play competitive teams like DeMatha and Gonzaga, they lose.

2. Sidwell has recruited a couple of good players to elevate a once dreadful program. Top 10 in the area? No chance.

3. That baseball ranking is from last year.

Losing 46-0 to Flint Hill? LOL. And nowhere to go but down under Farquhar. If that's possible.

But who cares? Why does it matter that Sidwell isn't fabulous at sports? I guarantee you that the parents of those kids are happy to be there, so why keep flaming?

I'll trust ESPN's sports analysis over yours.

Nothing wrong with being mediocre at sports. It's the delusional Sidwell parents who are insisting their kids are getting a great education outside the classroom as well.

And sports is the only thing "outside the classroom"? Sad.

No, it's not. Nobody - except you - said otherwise. Sidwell is the University of Chicago of DC private schools, and there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, some Sidwell parents think that the athletics program at Sidwell is excellent when it's clearly not.

Horseshit. This thread has never been about Sidwell parents bragging about their school. The whole thread's just one idiot trying to trash the football team.

No, read the posts. It started discussing Sidwell's epic season on ineptitude last year and the school's refusal to properly support the kids who were busting their butt on the field. It blew up when many Sidwell parents chimed in with "Nothing to see here ... move along" posts. Your post has the same tenor.

And why are you continuing to post the football team's scores a year later?

Sidwell lost today to the Maret Frogs. By a score of 42-0. Sidwell lost its final three MAC games by a combined score of 144-7, the only three decent (not great) football teams they faced.

LOL.

Is this child's play or are Maret and Sidwell powerhouses of football in the D.C. area? All of private school football is a big joke. What's with the fascination and obsession about football scores from kids pretending to play a man's game? Flip the score the result is the same. This is a joke.
