Trump govt is deporting Green Card holder student exercising free speech

Anonymous
He is being deported for disturbing pro-Hamas literature in a school campus he no longer attends. Green card status allows for the deportation of guests that threaten national security and support terrorist organizations.

I fully support his deportation.

Free speech does not extend to promoting a terrorist organization.

Look what lying Levitt has to say on this matter:

"Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, the secretary of state has the right to revoke a green card or a visa for individuals who serve, or are adversarial to the foreign policy and the national security interests of the United States of America," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt"

So with the bum rush Zelensky was given in the Oval Office, it's clear what the official U.S. foreign policy is on Ukraine. That they are our enemies

So Ukrainian protesters will be "adversarial to the foreign policy of the United States."

That's BS.

He has never professed support for any terrorist organization. Blatant lies.

Students who were not U.S. citizens should avoid publishing work on Gaza, Ukraine and protests related to their former classmate’s arrest, urged Stuart Karle, a First Amendment lawyer and adjunct professor. With about two months to go before graduation, their academic accomplishments — or even their freedom — could be at risk if they attracted the ire of the Trump administration.

“If you have a social media page, make sure it is not filled with commentary on the Middle East,” he told the gathering in Pulitzer Hall. When a Palestinian student objected, the journalism school’s dean, Jelani Cobb, was more direct about the school’s inability to defend international students from federal prosecution.

“Nobody can protect you,” Mr. Cobb said. “These are dangerous times.”

What is going on in this country? Listen up when people say that this arrest is just a first step. If the administration can do this, they can do this for any cause or any viewpoint that they disagree with.

Your problem is that nobody believes these universities, professors, and students actually support free speech or the first amendment. There is simply too much history of them fighting for speech suppression. It’s quite rich for them to be claiming they now love the first amendment.

That guy is a green card holder. Under deportation law he is deemed a security threat and will be deported.

The bar is higher for deportation than handing photo copies out

So now we have minority report, huh?

Even if he didn’t hand out the literature, the fact that he participated and organized and even with pro-Hamas literature and support is grounds for deportation. Lesson learned. Be careful and don’t take your green card for granted.

It’s not. That’s all that’s needed. Shrug. Hamas is a terrorist org.

It didn't used to be until Trump decided on dictator plays

No one has ever done this. Maybe Trump won't get it all his own way. It's in all our best interests to keep him from being king

This is one more step towards dictatorship.

Speech is no longer free.

If you want to live in denial because your cult leader denies it, you are free to do so, but don't expect the rest of us to ignore the fact that you're taking away our civil liberties and human rights.

Look at what any of the international human rights organizations say. The US is getting less free, according to almost all of them.
