Golden Bachelorette

I agree she’s very plastic and too made up. But I hate all the thin-bashing. I’m thin like Joan and it’s not on purpose. I can’t help it. Some people are naturally thin. But I agree that if I were on this show I would insist on wearing less revealing clothes. They only highlight the less appealing aspects.

Her wardrobe reminds me of the mail order catalogue “Boston Proper”. Like everything was purchased from that catalogue. Very 90’s.

I’m not here for the body shaming but the choices? Joan, you did not have to spray tan your legs into oompah loopah territory. Bad extensions are also a choice. The plastic surgery IDK. The pressure not to age has become so intense for American women. And there’s always risk. It’s amazing how many wealthy women have bad surgery; I think it’s crazy difficult to find really excellent surgeons who will give you a realistic look.

I’m still traumatized from the burgundy leather pants in an earlier episode. I don’t think we ever talked about it but lord those were awful.

I’m going off in a tangent but reading all this makes me so scared of online dating. I’m newly divorced and late 50’s. I honestly wonder what a man would see in me? Why not someone younger? I’m told I look great for my age but I still am convinced that we as a society just don’t like the look of an aging woman. Myself included!

The choice of clothes and outfits seem to be accentuating her thin frame instead of complementing. She could wear anything and it would fit her nicely . She’d be better off with better more expensive looking cuts and fabrics.

It is a sad truth. But the right man will be looking for a spark and excellent companionship, and will himself be imperfect and aging too.

For starters, look for the kind of man who wouldn't be caught dead on a reality tv dating show!

Are you in a place in life where you are trapped in the US? European men are substantially less hung up about age?

OLD is really the worst I think around 45+. From what I can see it attracts the most shallow and boring men. I think if you’re in this age group it’s better to volunteer, join meet ups, take classes, and tell everyone you know you’re open for blind dates.

They showed photos of her when she was younger and talking about her marriage in one episode. Her face looked completely different. No exaggeration.

She really did look like an entirely different person. I almost wonder if she didn’t need reconstruction or something.

Also, I am shocked that we don’t even have anyone pretending to know her on DCUM.

That is surprising.

And yes, she looked like a different person in the old photos. It was startling.

You will just have to be open to men who are older than you are by about 10 years or more. It’s just kind of how it works.
