Did you want us to pretend that an octogenarian forgetting some stuff is breaking news?

People his age have memory issues. Trump has them too.

"Forgetting some stuff"?? JFC, come up out of your echo chamber for air occasionally. Are you truly so partisan that you can't admit Biden is unfit to be president?? And btw - don't deflect to Trump. You have plenty of other threads on which you can rage about him. This isn't it.

I call my kids by the wrong names a lot of times, and at times, I really have to think when I was born. The other day, I had difficulty recalling my SSN because I hadn't used it in a while. I am in my 40s.

Maybe I should be put out to pasture too.

You are pathetic to try and draw a comparison between normal, everyday forgetfulness and a confused, addled man who is the PRESIDENT of the U.S. Good grief. Maybe you should be put out to pasture just for sheer stupidity.

I'm losing respect for Jill with every day that goes by. She needs to insist Biden step down, but she won't. It's really disgraceful.

She should insist her husband be prosecuted, his memory is fine.

There isn’t evidence to support a prosecution. As has been stated in the report.

There’s plenty of evidence. Willful removal and possession of classified documents going back decades. This is not subject to argument - it is a fact.

The ONLY reason he is not being prosecuted is because he’s mentally unfit to stand trial.

Not at all fact. You are just making shit up. That is NOT AT ALL what the report said. The investigation is done, no evidence of willful misconduct, the report says Biden's testimony was clear and compelling, and THAT is not subject to argument. CASE IS CLOSED. Your personal opinions to the contrary are invalid and irrelevant.

What a load of crap.

The very first paragraph of the report said that he found Biden WILLFULLY took and retained classified material.
And, he did not say his testimony was "clear and compelling." He said what was clear was that Biden had memory issues.

Yes... the case was closed.

So, we have a president who on one hand isn't mentally strong enough to be charged, yet mentally strong enough to be the leader of the free world.

Make it make sense.

So, you only read the first paragraph and not the rest of the document where he was pretty specific in saying no crimes were committed and no charges were warranted.

PP hasn't even read the first paragraph! He's lying about even that! The first paragraph says "We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter.1 We would reach the same conclusion even if Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president."

No criminal charges warranted because he has such a bad memory.....

"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Eiden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties-of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness."

No charges because they have no evidence. It doesn’t matter what Biden would say if they had any real evidence. They didn’t.

The so-called bad memory is about questions like “Who packed this box in your office 15 years ago?” “Where was the box before it was moved to your garage?” “Who moved it to your garage?” “When?” “Why?”
Any sane person being asked those questions by a prosecutor would say “I don’t remember.” Who remembers that kind of trivial shit with certainty.

If a few documents and personal notes sat in a box with a bunch of mundane non classified office clutter for a dozen years, and there is no evidence that anyone ever did anything with any of the documents, then of course a jury would believe it was an innocent mistake with no willful intent. Because they have no evidence of intent but also no evidence of any harm.

All BS.
He accessed the documents and information. He even told his ghostwriter that he found the classified information.
And, the ghostwriter deleted some of his files even when he knew there was an investigation.

Face it... Biden had classified docs and information. Even leading back to his Senate days.
He accessed them when putting together a book. He shared classified information.

The only reason he is not being charged is because his memory is so poor that Hur doesn't think a jury would convict.
Yet, he is sharp enough to be president?
Give me a break.

You’re a liar.

DP. You're making a fool of yourself every time you childishly respond, "You're a liar!" The PP is correct.

No, PP is lying. And so are you.

The only person lying here is you - and mainly to yourself. Get a new shtick.

You’ve lied over and over again about what the report says. You even lied about what the first paragraph says.

DP - I think the PP to whom you replied was actually correct but agree that it is not helpful to respond with “you’re a liar”. Obviously, it is a matter of different interpretations of the report.

For me: There was no evidence of criminal intention to acquire or retain the security documents. The report is clear on that.

Also I think Biden is sharp enough to be president. He has a lot of experience that has helped to stabilize the country after a very chaotic period under #45. The economy is doing well and relations with important allies are in good order again.

I hope Biden and Trump do have a debate as it will make it easier to judge their comparative current mental and leadership capabilities better.

I will take everyone else's word, including the GOP's, over that of Hur. The examples he gave are exactly this kind of thing also.

It’s not a matter of interpretation. The report clearly says the main reason he couldn’t charge was because he couldn’t prove Biden knew the classified docs were there. If he could have proved that, whether Biden knew what year Beaux died is totally irrelevant.

It’s not a matter of interpretation. The report clearly says the main reason he couldn’t charge was because he couldn’t prove Biden knew the classified docs were there. If he could have proved that, whether Biden knew what year Beaux died is totally irrelevant.

I actually agree with you (and also think it was tacky and unnecessary to bring up rapid recall about date of Beaux’s passing as I am sure the pain about that is constant).

However, I do see how there can be confusion over the report given the many unnecessary and irrelevant observations about Biden that were made.

“We have concluded that there is not a prosecutable case against Biden. Although there was a basis to open the investigation based on the fact that classified documents were found in Biden’s homes and office space, that is insufficient to establish a crime was committed. The illegal retention or dissemination of national defense information requires that he knew of the existence of such documents and that he knew they contained national defense information. It is not a crime without those additional elements. Our investigation, after a thorough year-long review, concludes that there is an absence of such necessary proof. Indeed, we have found a number of innocent explanations as to which we found no contrary evidence to refute them and found affirmative evidence in support of them.”

What I don’t understand is why they didn’t delay the testimony? Would it have been that big of a deal? Israel had just been attacked, and that’s a pretty legitimate excuse.

Because they wanted to cooperate fully with the investigation to get it over with. Unlike some other people.

DP...
You're the pathetic one to harp on Biden getting tangled up on a single word or two in a 50 minute speech, particularly with the stutter he's had since childhood. I bet dollars to donuts that YOU couldn't deliver those speeches completely flawlessly. You're truly ridiculous. And no amount of your hysterical shouting is going to make you any less ridiculous.

"As president, I cannot think clearly during stressful events" is not the kind of response we want from the Commander in Chief.

He was talking about the border and his stutter mind kicked in Mexico because that has probably been at the top of his mind. The content of what he said in terms of helping the Palestinians and holding Hamas accountable was the more important part of the message.

A president should be able to handle testifying the day after a major international event. If he can’t, he shouldn’t be president.

Because he had nothing to hide and was happy to cooperate as any innocent, responsible person would be.
