We had a coach tell us that is makes it hard for him to play kids knowing they are leaving the club.

We have also seen it with other kids that announced they were leaving. Less play time. These coaches are petty AF.

It "makes it hard for him"? What a dipwad.

His pride makes it hard for him not to be a petty AH and hurt the time to make sure parents know it's not okay to leave. NM that you paid for 10 months of soccer...

Valor does not do a 10 month program.

They do 10 months just like every other program in the DMV.

They might advertise that they have a 10 month program but in reality that is a lie just like NVA is an alliance for valor kids.

Our team did NOTHING in winter. NO indoor leagues, no futsal, NOTHING.

Sorry your kid is on a lower team/your coach sucks. Top and second teams definitely did stuff over break.

If yourteam did nothing, I am not sure what to tell you. Every team was assigned training space weekly all winter. Indoor leagues are something your coach or manager could have booked, and you could have used it as one of your five included tournaments/ events. All U9 through U12 teams did indoor as part of their programming on Saturday and Sunday mornings in addition to a day outside. Like I said, every team had space assigned, and all of the team managers (like me) and coaches can see it across the entire club. Weekends they could ask for space to scrimmage too, since there were fields. The coaches are expected as part of their contract to train teams in the winter, and they are the ones who ask for the field/ night/ time when Valor starts assigning for each season (fall, winter, or spring). That's just bizarre to me.

They charge the same price for the lower teams, but they get the bad coaches and no winter practice?

Yep. Seems like they should charge less if you are getting less.

I have a feeling the previous poster is all over their thread making proclamations about Valor as a club based on their experience with one crappy coach/team. I agree that a travel club should offer a more consistent experience across the board, but PP is misleading when they say “Valor does this… Valor doesn’t do that”. Most of what they have said is simply not accurate for my child’s age group and team. I wouldn’t stick around either if I were PP.

our neighbor kid is also a valor player under U12 and they did stuff all winter so it appears to be a coach issue.

If someone's experience with their valor team is X, and they say "Valor does X"--how on earth would they know any different?

Because you talk to other people and use your eyes to see what else is going on. They are claiming valor sucks as a whole nit their kids team.

^ this, exactly. Any club will probably have someone unhappy. That does not mean the whole club is miserable. My son’s team added a kid from BRYC last year. They hated it. Yet my neighbor has a daughter who loves it. People mock Revolution all the time but there are people who like it there. I know a family who took their kids out of VSA, but I know happy people there too. Finding the right fit for your player is important, and no club is going to be right for every kid. That’s just reality.
Anonymous
47 pages seems to indicate a lot of unhappy parents but of course with 10,000 teams, there will be good and bad,,,seems like a LOT of bad tho
Anonymous
It does depend if it’s the girls/boys team and the year. Avoid joining the ulittle girls team. As previous posts mentioned, CS is an idiot.
