This is an interesting story. I don't know anyone involved. with that said, I offer the following:

BB went from a Tax Compliance Officer (TCO) to a Special Agent (SA) with IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS CI). BB was never a FBI Agent. Just want to repeat for clarity, BB was never a FBI Agent.

A TCO is a relatively lower level position that tops out pretty low on the GS scale. Lots of GS 15 talk on here. BB was likely a GS-12 or GS-13. He was (and maybe still is) a federal Leo (SA with IRS CI). If BB was ever higher than a GS-13, I'll eat my hat.

A SA with IRS CI includes a take home vehicle. If he was placed on admin leave, he would likely lose the take home vehicle. This may be why he may have purchased the Tesla.

There seems to be a lot of criticism about the law enforcements approach. The criticism implies that bc BB was Law Enforcement that he is receiving undue deference. I don't think this is the case. The investigators working this likely are very, very confident that they know who committed this crime. They are being meticulous in ensuring that they gather all the appropriate evidence to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. They have got there with the AP. They have been very, and appropriately careful, about any other charges they might bring.

IRS-CI issues its SA firearms. IRS-CI SA generally carry their firearms during their TOD.

This is all very interesting. His mom had been IRS too.

Thought people attributed "FBI" to Christine saying so? Maybe she said federal LE and people assumed FBI?

The academy in GA seems to be all fed LE, not just FBI.

Don’t some agencies do training with or at FBI even though they’re not FBI? I have a friend who had to do some anti-terrorism training before going to a certain country for her job. They had a learn how to drive in reverse at high level speeds, dodge bullets, etc. She is with a govt agency but is is not FBI.

On the earliest articles there were comments that named him and said FBI and someone said Christine said that is why they came to DC. I think I saw her use that word on IG, can't look more now.

Let’s be clear, there are no articles that discussed the identity of the husband at all early on. He was not named until last week.

Juliana claims she was out with the child. That seems plausible as I don't think Christine would have Joe there with her daughter in the house. I do believe Joe was invited and both Brendan and Christine knew it. Juliana probably too, not to mention her mom in Brazil.

Right, that is why I used the word "comment." I remember one saying something like, "I'll name him, his name is Brendan Banfield" as a comment on a post or article the day of.

Not being rolling in money makes more sense to invite Joe over, I guess, hotels are expensive and Joe lived with family so they had to host. Usually the hotwife idea is pushed by the husband, was Joe the first because Brendan needed a fall guy? Or was this something they had done for a while? That kind of fetish to want to in essence, pimp out your wife for your kicks, or some c*ck fetish, seems to speak of a really troubled mind to me. Christine had been with him since a teen, does not seem like it would have been her idea but something she did for Brendan.

I almost never use my front door for entry/exit - instead I enter through the garage and use the garage code. The house appears to have a front facing garage, maybe they did the same. It would be easy to give out a garage code.

They either let him in or gave him the code, maybe a neighbor can speak to keyless entry.

From the day of the killing LE seemed to get what had gone down and to want to nail them. Didn't they say something like the FOB fanclub were "present and involved?" Very unusual choices of words. This seems personal to them. They are going to be very careful to make the best case they can. Maybe they don't need Juliana, but would like to gild the lilly so to speak re: conspiracy, etc.

Once he was non-cooperative, it was pretty clear. And I'm guessing he did not seem super credibly bereaved either. Wasn't there some other odd detail like the child being in the care of LE even after his release from the hospital? Would have to go back and look. Their words and even body language at the presser by the house spoke volumes.

Any more about the sports show, PP? How did the show staff react?

It will never bring him back but Joe's name deserves to be cleared. With that new article @ Juliana's mom heard a bunch more people saying she was a hero and Joe a killer.
