Did they seem to expect people to interact with them, like it never happened?

Has to be really trippy. Like they wanted to just replace her. He could have gotten a divorce.

Was Brendan liked amongst the husbands or did people get a sense he was fake and shady?

To be honest, I think BB just didn’t give a f*** about what others think. He wasn’t really friendly and just kept to himself. Complete opposite of CB who was super sweet.

I can only imagine the conversations among the other neighbors, being so close to such a creepy situation.

Well yeah. That’s required for all FBI agents right? LOL

Probably a quality that helped him transgress the most basic of human norms, don't kill, and protect your wife and kid.

Were other au pairs suprised by her being charged or had she also seemed kind of cold and off?

I wouldn't have wanted my au pair and kid to be having playdates there, for sure.

I wonder is Christine doing shift work created more opportunities for BB and Juliana? Friends with au pairs tend to both be at home in the evenings, weekends, etc. But, horny men and young girls who want to marry fast will tend to find a way anyway. I too know marriages that split over an affair with au pair. Including 1 by a lesbian mom, tbh.

No one has mentioned any indicators of prior domestic violence but I expect there was controlling behavior. If they did indeed engage in the "hotwife" scene and if it was something pushed by Brendan, that could qualify as dv, coercive control and sexual abuse by him, even if via another. If she felt like she had to do it to meet his needs or keep him happy, for example.

She does not strike me as someone who would seek that out, especially in her family home, early on a weekday morning. The neighbors would notice the car and you never take them home, but, house is place with most control for murders.

He looked pleased to be showing off Juliana in public in a revealing outfit, it's not inconceivable that he gets off on that sort of thing.

Maybe it was in the context of BB’s self-inflicted minor wound that the AP referred to on second 911 call as “my friend has been hurt”?

That's an interesting thought.

This is an interesting story. I don't know anyone involved. with that said, I offer the following:

BB went from a Tax Compliance Officer (TCO) to a Special Agent (SA) with IRS Criminal Investigation (IRS CI). BB was never a FBI Agent. Just want to repeat for clarity, BB was never a FBI Agent.

A TCO is a relatively lower level position that tops out pretty low on the GS scale. Lots of GS 15 talk on here. BB was likely a GS-12 or GS-13. He was (and maybe still is) a federal Leo (SA with IRS CI). If BB was ever higher than a GS-13, I'll eat my hat.

A SA with IRS CI includes a take home vehicle. If he was placed on admin leave, he would likely lose the take home vehicle. This may be why he may have purchased the Tesla.

There seems to be a lot of criticism about the law enforcements approach. The criticism implies that bc BB was Law Enforcement that he is receiving undue deference. I don't think this is the case. The investigators working this likely are very, very confident that they know who committed this crime. They are being meticulous in ensuring that they gather all the appropriate evidence to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. They have got there with the AP. They have been very, and appropriately careful, about any other charges they might bring.

IRS-CI issues its SA firearms. IRS-CI SA generally carry their firearms during their TOD.

On her IG Christine posts that he was off having training at the academy and she says FBI, so I do think that is why they came to DC. That said, I also think that he is not raking in the bucks. Will see if I can find the link.

I think LE is doing a great job. Since the day of the tragic murders the chief himself has seemed to get what really went down and to be focused on proving it. The assistance of Juliana would be valuable if they can get it with a bit of pressure.

My guess is that BRENDAN expected deference. VA seems very carefully focused on holding him "accountable." I think he was not named day of due to being FBI, his identity was shielded until court filings re: Juliana. The chief literally said they were not going to name him that day, not IRS anymore, FBI.

On the earliest articles there were comments that named him and said FBI and someone said Christine said that is why they came to DC. I think I saw her use that word on IG, can't look more now.

This is all very interesting. His mom had been IRS too.

Thought people attributed "FBI" to Christine saying so? Maybe she said federal LE and people assumed FBI?

The academy in GA seems to be all fed LE, not just FBI.

Wonder if his minor injury for which he was treated and released in hours was a graze or caused by a knife? By himself or by another?

Maybe he thought that would up the "self defense" use of gun?

That poor child. Can't even imagine where she was during this. And now...it makes my heart hurt.

I found the academy post, haven't seen FBI, will look more later. Hmmm.

So if he wasn't expecting deference as FBI, he really just thought he was that much smarter?

The chief seemed confident in the update.

Before coming here his public salary was under $69,000, was specified as matter of public record upthread, so that is a 12. Then he changed jobs and got an increase, for those speculating it went up over $150,000, not a chance. So as a PICU nurse, Christine may have made more?
