Speaking of concerns about integrity, here is what we do know. One 22 year old candidate claims he "has spent the last six years in work on issues related to students and schools." This candidate does not say, "Hey, I graduated from college a year ago, thus have limited work experience."
This same candidate also says his "involvement in our community dates back nearly a decade to 2014." He does not say, "I moved here less than 6 months ago." These things are actual facts which raise significant questions about his integrity, not people simply gossiping online. And, for this matter, if he's employing these kind of Santos-style resume tactics, how do we know he's not secretly a Republican? Has anyone asked him who he's voted for? Why hasn't he responded yet? (Do you see how ridiculous this is?) |
I can’t stand youngkin and IDGAF who she’s voted for. We have two choices for this school board election. Our choices are 22 year old whose fabricated or embellished most of the details on his resume, has 0 presence or connection to our community. Mostly goes around railing about MAGA republicans from what I can see. And our other choice is a mom of 3 with deep ties to Arlington, who’s done some pretty good things for Drew and has a lot of good, practical ideas from what I can see. She also has a huge public footprint from all the trolls she respectfully engaged with on AEM. Everything about her tells me she is a Democrat and a person of integrity. This is the easiest vote I’m casting this cycle. |
Except maybe not a “Democrat” because we aren’t sure if she voted for Youngkin. Like her husband and all of her other buddies. Certainly could be an integrity issue there seeking ACDC endorsement. And her vote absolutely matters because it informs us of her priorities and principles. And not sure she should be spouting off her PTA experience when her own husband is encouraging parents to leave their PTAs. |
Well Said! |
It’s not a tough question to answer. Did she support Youngkin? |
It’s an “attack” to share his tweets? They are his words. He supports Youngkin, DeSantis (including donation), Ian Prior, Asra Nomani, etc. Total MAGA cesspool. Oh, and he thinks “leftist wine moms” aren’t that smart. It’s a little odd for a Democrat to surround herself with these people. |
I don't know Miranda at all, but did my own research before voting. The claims on this thread that she's some sort of secret Republican are crazy. She represents Planned Parenthood on a pro bono basis at Crowell & Moring. In fact, per the Crowell website, she successfully helped to block a Kentucky anti-abortion law from going into effect in 2022. https://www.crowell.com/en/insights/firm-news/crowell-moring-achieves-victory-in-reproductive-rights-litigation-in-kentucky
I voted for Kadera in the last election, so I am not some die-hard Miranda supporter. But it is insane to vote for a 22 year old personal trainer who just moved to the County a year ago. You want him over a long-standing APS parent who also happens to be a highly talented lawyer? Who do you think is going to be the more effective advocate for our kids in taking on Duran and the APS bureaucracy? Has Angelo even set foot in an APS school building? |

+2. No brainer |
This is the point. WHy not? They care so much about APE's support of MT and Youngkin and Trump, but not of Kadera? |
Maybe nobody knows who she f'in voted for! Not everyone asks everyone and not everyone answers. Even my own spouse doesn't say who they have/are/will vote for. In this country, it's everyone's right to do that. You're never going to prove who she did or didn't vote for; so just drop it. |
As a democrat, I would vote for a Republican candidate if they have more integrity and principle and aren't any farther off base from my views over an unethical democrat whose views are more extreme than mine. Being "R" or "D" does not mean you cannot ever vote for anyone other than your corresponding "R" or "D" and doing so does not make one an "I." It just indicates the maturity and willingness to vote for the better candidate. Are you suggesting that lifelong Republicans who voted for Biden over Trump are not Republicans??!! Mature people have their lines in the sand and don't blindly follow the lead lemming past it. |
I don't know who she voted for ever in any election; but here, I'll answer for you so you can put it to rest and stop asking: Yes, she voted for Youngkin. That's what you wanted to hear, so now you can finally drop it. |

OK, she married an a-hole. Her hell to endure how she chooses. |
