Someone is clueless... We had 150ish coaches at one of our games this weekend, they stack behind each other, on the end lines, and even on the parent's side of the field. Also, most coaches are moving between games frequently so there is a changeover of coaches constantly during the game, but mostly during halftime. We have parents that walk the sidelines during the game handing out flyers and writing down the school and coach name that is in attendance. Its common at this level to have that many at a game.

Yes, when we pass out flyers we record the coaches name and school. You’ve obviously never been to a VDA 2008/2009/2010 ECNL event over the last couple of years but those teams typically pull in 100+ coaches each day for the first two days of an ECNL event. I’m sorry you have FOMO. And It’s not 120 at once, there usually is at turnover at halftime. |
Comfirmed. VDA not ARL. |

100+ is really not unreasonable for an ECNL level event. My DD 2009 RL team had 65 coaches at their game Friday at the ECRL showcase in Winston-Salem. 2010 team had 40+.
And yes they are all not there at the same time; they rotate through; very few watch an entire game. And yes, parent hands out flyers and gets a business card or contact info from each coach (that is how you track the number and who came). |
We're U12 now, so no it seems like inflated numbers. But, you sound more legitimate...so, that is a huge showing! Good luck to your DD! |
As far as brackets, is the season over yet? We just had 2 teams from our conference punch their tickets this past weekend. |
IMYS guy is upset with some GA club that used data the way ECNL uses data ...
|
Fields in NC were great last weekend. I've never considered Norco fields as being nice. |
100+ is good if DD can play. But if DD is not there yet ( a there are plenty) and plays in front of 100+ coaches, then it is a non event. |
| The scouts aren't there to watch random kids. I hope you all understand this! I'm sure there's that diamond in the rough they discover, but they're watching specific people. |
100% true. IMYS made a very biased post the other week. I'm in ECNL, but there is no way that account is league neutral. IMYS should be IMECNLS, then it would be fine. |
the ignorance above is useful |
if your kid plays for an ecnl team when she is at U15, the amount of coaches will steadily increase and you will see. by u16, for thiis upcoming season with the new age changes, the sophomores will be getting a lot of coaches cause that summer between soph/junior is when d1 coaches can talk to them and offer scholarships. but a lot depends on how many of the kids are emailing the coaches to come to their game (showing interest) and how many coaches come because of the reputation of the club/coach/team to produce ballers. |
lol. those false ga numbers posted by that central ga club were down right criminal and blatenly false. 80% of all GA players go to D1? lmao. can't believe that club actually posted that.but hey, here's some really good numbers about 2026: There are 78 NL and GA clubs that have 11 or more players committed to D1 in the Class of 2026. 67 ECNL teams and 11 GA teams. https://x.com/imyouthsoccer/status/2062365472931065983?s=46 ...ga parents, you were saying? |
That is not a reputable verified source. A lot of that info is made up. |
