| This whole GA ECNL debate is plain dumb. Low IQ debate really. There are recruitable and non recruitable on both leagues. Post smart please! |
Say it again. I dont think they understand |
| One thing you have to consider when looking at numbers specifically in the DMV area as well is what level or school some kids/families are willing to accept. Many players from VDA for instance will take a D1 offer from a Radford, ODU or VCU where as a player from Arlington, Mclean, Vienna will not in a lot of cases. Not that there is anything wrong with those schools, its just families from certain areas of the DMV wont sacrifice academics just to play soccer even if its a D1 school. They are looking at higher academic schools like Georgetown, Duke or Stanford or would even take a higher academic D3 over a mid tier D1 and if they can't get in through soccer they will still try to get in through academics where as many kids from other parts of northern VA would gladly take it |

I think there were 500+ scouts at my DD's last playoff/showcase/whatever you want to call it. ... There was no space at ALL for that first match. They were there to see all the players on the 2 most amazing teams you ever saw, even though most players already had signed with D1 programs and were considering whether to go to the next USYNT camps!
What league and where was this? I bet you want to know. But I'm not telling. |
Yes agreed. Our oldest DD had offers from George Mason and ECU to play D1 but chose to go to Columbia and plays on the school club soccer team and couldn't be happier. Nothing wrong with that. Our youngest hasn't decided what she wants to do and has plenty of time to decide but she has teammates that want to play at UNC and UVA. If they didn't get in to a school of that caliber to play soccer I doubt they would settle for a mid level D1 knowing the families. |
sure, you can just go to each clubs instagram or twitter and see their total announcements or their team brochure will all the schools the 2026's are committed to. or you can go to prepsoccer, trop drawer or SoccerWire and add each clubs up as well. but oh well, they are probably lying also. |
You are welcome to take a guy on X with an Excel sheet at his word, but don’t expect everyone else to believe it. |
Is there even a name associated with the account? Or is it just an X handle? Some people are so gullible. |
Everyone knows this. But each has their own priorities. Most don’t have the As or the $$ for these high academic schools and it is ok. A lot of people just want to play in any college as long as it is D1 and that is ok too. |
Thank you for proving that ga really is a legitimate path to D1! And that the clubs that recruit the best players get the most D1 commits. Total genius here |
As another poster has stated, that's very true. It's what the kid wants - how important is playing college soccer versus the academic side of things? The decision that your oldest made is an example of that for sure - my DD's club team has players that are happy playing at both GM and ECU versus others that would not have been. And regarding the bolded, it's great that your DD's teammates have aspirational goals. To actually play at UNC and UVA, they would be on the top of the mountain for sure for both academics and the soccer side. It's interesting to see where my DD's teammates have committed - of the players on her team, all but 1 committed to a D1. One is going to play at a top D3. But, one of the D1 commits had her offer pulled with a coaching change and is reconsidering if she really wants to play or would be better doing what your oldest has done. Top school and play club. |

| Playing soccer in college is also a career. What’s wrong with that? |
| I am really saddened to hear that the GA is having a hard time with conferences this upcoming season. They are trying to reorganize quite a few but are getting major pushback and some clubs going ballistic. Nothing but disfunction. I really. hope they can get it together. |
explain or source please |
