Do you take any precautions so the kids won't hear you having sex? They're getting to the age (adolescence) where they'd be conscious of what we're doing if they heard us. I remember those days and want to spare them being grossed out the way I was by often hearing my parents.
On the other hand, DH's feeling is that "it's only natural" and "they know how they got here", so he's not too worried. What say all of you? |

It's rude to be loud. Try your best.
Also won't kill them but be considerate. |
| It's considerate to make sure they don't hear you. Treat them as you'd want them to treat you when sleeping with their SOs in your home someday. |
| Agree with PP, and also your DH. Just use common sense. Don't be unreasonably loud, but know they probably do/will hear you occasionally. Not the end of the world. |
| Think back to what it was like to masturbate in your parents' house when you were a teenager, and be that stealthy and quiet. Not rocket science. |
| I never found it "gross" when I would occasionally hear my parents, so I can't relate to that. But if you're really worried, put a pillow over your face or just do it late at night or really early in the morning when you know they're asleep. |
| You do know entire families used to live in one-room cabins, right? |
| music or tv & lock your bedroom door |
This. We can be super quiet. Only noise is if I bite his shoulder too hard when I O. |
| White noise machine + late at night. |
| I try to do it when they're asleep - actually asleep, not just in bed. I don't go crazy but some sounds are normal. |

This, can't believe anyone would do otherwise. |
| Late at night when you *know* they're asleep is a great plan, unless they aren't as asleep as you think. There were plenty of times when I woke up to go to the bathroom or get a glass of water and heard my parents very clearly in the hallway. **shudder** But I lived. |
| First rule is to lock your bedroom door. Unless you prefer to have your headboard banging like in a porno, most people can and do have sex quietly. Wait till your kids are asleep or do it in the morning. |
