We're getting chocolate cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting.
What did you have? |
| Sounds good. Mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate cake with white frosting. |
|
Millennials are ditching the wedding cakes for cheaper dessert spreads. We are planning our wedding and most venues we talked to said "Yeah, you guys aren't doing the cake, right? No one in your generation wants them."
Seems like a stupidly expensive waste. I can appreciate the artistry and talent, but I can stock a table with a variety of delicious local desserts for $300. |
| We did magnolia bakery cupcakes |
Don't hijack other people's threads. She was asking what flavor, not whether to have one.
|
What flavor? |
| Sponge cake with raspberry and bavarian cream. People loved it, probably because it was a fairly light cake. |
|
We didn't have one but my favorite is lemon.
Good call on the buttercream. Fondant is garbage and makes the whole thing taste like garbage. |
+1, our cake, but many years ago was Baskin Robbins... it was far cheaper than $300 and everyone loved it. |
| Almond cake with raspberry coulis and white chocolate buttercream. |
| Wedding-cake flavored. Whatever that is. White cake with white frosting. |
|
I made my own cake because I’m a baker and I was stupid.
But it was really, really good. Vanilla sponge, lemon curd layers with vanilla buttercream. My fiancé and I were still putting the finishing touches on it 30 minutes before the ceremony, while everyone else was already at the venue. |
| Strawberry cake with butttercream frosting. I’m also a millennial and I had a wedding cake. I’ve been to weddings without them that featured things like cheesecake or a pie buffet. |
| Vanilla cake, vanilla bean cream, and buttercream frosting. |

1st wedding, carrot cake and German chocolate cake, made by local baker in my hometown.
2nd wedding, lemon, made by me. |
