DA vs ECNL vs everything else

The Spirit will have to fix their costs, both their dues and their travel costs (double other local DAs in dues and travel costs). If they can do that, then they can become a very quality program.

Done:

Costs

In 2017/18 seasonal year the Spirit cost to participate was set up as an “all-inclusive” fee, which provided everything the player needed for the entire year beyond travel costs (air, lodging, ground transport, team meals) for games and showcases. For 2018/19, we are re-structuring both our fees and travel policies to align more with how other youth clubs operate in the DMV region. For complete details, please visit our Fees FAQ here.

Not a huge fan of GotSoccer rankings but BRYC's 02's and 04's are both ranked 2d in VA, and 29th and 31st nationally.

And BRYC's 99's are ranked 1st in VA and 8th nationally.

That is way above being "just OK".

OK......great start, but what that tells me is ok we will nickle and dime you now. Also their trips have cost double what the other local DAs have charged...........that needs to change too.

Which is what every club literally does. The general advertised price for FCV was around $3000-$3500 for training. That did not cover new uniforms, bags etc. Even current FCV players had to buy new jerseys. That $3500 didn't cover travel, it didn't cover possible indoor training space, it didn't cover the $150-$200 heart rate sensor top. For one of the age groups it doesn't cover a team trip to Germany.

Spirit is requiring fewer bus trips and allowing families to make their own travel and flight arrangements for players as well. Parents can stay with the kids if they wish and provide the game day transportation. So the travel costs can be controlled more by the parents going forward if they choose.

When its all said and done, ECNL cost about 8,0090 -10,000 a year at the older age groups.

Can you imagine going to a ECNL San Diego showcase or national championship and not even being allowed to dress for the game? Bottom half paying for the top half to pay.

It's all expensive.

Everyone gets playing time at a showcase. The point of the showcase is showcase the players not to win games.

That's not exclusively an ECNL issue. Isn't it even worse for DA since you get fewer subs/game? I imagine those players are also traveling and paying and not getting playing time.

Repeat this...

The bottom 25 percent of the roster is on the team to lower the cost for the others

If you're the bottom 25 percent, find a new team.

Harsh but reality. What is the point if your kid isn't playing...i mean after all...it is a game meant to be played

DA has the minimum of 25% start time requirement...

25 percent start time doesn't equate to playing minutes. Like i said, its a game meant to be played. Find a new team
