The confederate flag did not fly over state capitols until the 1960s in opposition to the civil rights movement - that is a FACT! Show me some WWII veterans and lets see if the flag was waving. |
Huh? Lots of use of the battle flag in WW2 -- carried at D-day, flew over a Japanese island. You just don't get it pal. |

That's not a State Capitol. That is a pile of rocks. |
These pictures show the use of the flag during ww2- I didn't post them but they are pretty clearly from that vintage.
The claims of some posters here that nobody knew of or displayed the flag intil segregation debates in the 60's has been soundly debunked. |
Indeed. I posted them - and they are from WW2. This is in response to this post...."Show me some WWII veterans and lets see if the flag was waving.” |
You should learn to quote. Or rather pay attention to what you're reading. BTW, most parties are boys' clubs. You didn't know that? |
And you're just a juvenile little kid playing games. |
The age of some of these posters is clearly showing. To them, WWII vets are people they all want dead because they are racist. The only history they care about is from the 60s forward. |
True. The poster who said “that is a pile of rocks” is evidence of this. |
Right. And funny how the most serious sin of the current era is to be called a "racist." It's worse than being a cheater, an adulterer or anything else of evil action. |
The reality is that the term “racist” has lost its scorn because of overuse by liberals. When everyone is “racist,” no one is racist. |
Two pictures of the same guy doesn't "soundly debunk" anything. |
Many other pictures and stories of the flags use in ww2 have been posted on this forum. It was carried at Normandy. It was placed over a Japanese fortress in the pacific theater. It was a proudly treated symbol prior to the desegregation movement |
There was a picture of jimmy carter in front of the flag on a visit to Brazil in the seventies- where he met some of his wife's family who left after the civil war for Brazil. |
