I've bought into the theory that Arya is the waif (it's her version of fight club). It explains why no one responds to Arya when she is fighting the waif and how the waif knows everything about Arya. Someone suggested on Reddit that the waif will kill Arya next week and go to see Jaqen who will ask "what is your name?" She pulls on the waif's face (revealing the real Arya) and responds "no one." Then eventually she runs into a Stark and remembers who she is...

This!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2016/06/06/game-of-thrones-could-arya-and-the-waif-be-the-same-person/

There's also the theory that Arya was not truly stabbed, but it was instead Jaquen, who still owes her one. http://time.com/4358639/game-of-thrones-arya-stark-the-waif-theory/
Arya is a leftie and acted right-handed and 'different' in this scene ...

For someone on the run, she has a lot of clothes. She is in a different outfit next week when she leaps off the bridge. I agree that it is not what it seems. It's either not Arya or it's a fight club scenario or something else.

I agree with the second theory, but unsure as the why- we watched the episode again last night- Arya is walking around with different mannerisms like she is Jaquen, postures, tone are all a little off, and where is needle? She knows she is being hunted. I think Jaquen (or as some folks on redditt are calling him Sexy Jesus!!) is testing them both, and Arya might not have failed the last test, maybe she isn't supposed to question, but she isn't supposed to blindly follow either- the Faceless men seem to have a code, that corresponds with justice, not just mindless assassins.

This is an even juicier theory... Arya ia the Waif - as in they are just the same person. This has a neat gif of Arya fighting and there is no one fighting against her.

It was the first theory listed in this specific chain, just a different link!

Okay, the actress who plays the waif is in the next episode...

Ian McShane--who is well-known and super recognizable--was famously only in this week's episode for a few scenes.

But I like your idea.

She was in next week's scenes. She looks to her left and sees something.

It's as if they brought Ian onboard for a couple of speeches and then killed him off.

Yes! I was just scrolling down to type this. Also loved the reaction of Jon & Sansa when she said that she'd provide 62 men lol.

I LOVED how Davos handled her, just like he did with the princess. You could see he really liked her.

Yeah, but McShane had a meaty, memorable role in the one episode with a great speech. Grant was basically in the background with 3 lines, I feel like they got to give him more screentime at some point.

Can someone remind me why Blackfish is under seige and why his castle now belongs to Walder Frey? Can't remember.

Blackfish belonged to the Tully's. Catylyn Stark was a Tully. Caitlyn's nephew married Lord Frey's daughter when Robb Stark broke his promise of marriage and eloped with the Volantis woman. At that wedding, it became known as the Red Wedding where many Starks and Tully's were slaughtered. The groom was thrown in prison and Uncle Tully escaped the massacre. Tywin Lannister gave Blackfish to Lord Frey for his support, and Winterfell to the Bolton's for their traitorous treachery.

Not quite right.

The "Blackfish" is a man, not a castle and he is Brynden Tully, Catelyn Stark's uncle.

The Tullys are the Lords of the Riverlands and their castle is known as Riverrun. Its current head is Lord Edmure Tully, currently the Frey's captive since the Red Wedding. His sisters, Catelyn and Lysa, married Lords Eddard Stark and Jon Arryn during Robert's Rebellion, forming a powerful alliance of major houses.

Lysa was the crazy one whose son Robin became the titular Lord Paramount of the Vale after his father's death, while Lysa assumed rulership as the Lady Regent of the Vale. Lysa married Petyr Baelish in Season 4 and was then pushed by him through the "Moon Door" to her death. Petyr is now the guardian of the whimpy, spoiled Lord Robin who wanted to help free Sansa from Ramsey Bolton earl;ierc this season.

After the Red Wedding saw the capture of Lord Edmure Tully and the granting of Riverrun to House Frey by the Lannister's, only Lord Tully's uncle Brynden the 'Blackfish' remained at large. The "Blackfish" assembled what remained of the Tully armies still loyal to his House, and was able to retake Riverrun from the Freys, challenging both them and the Lannisters who supported them.

NP here. Thank you for this explanation! I understood what the relationships were, but it's nice to have it all spelled out for reference. Perhaps you should summarize every episode from here on out?!

Small geek tweak ... it wasn't the Lannisters qua Lannisters that dispossessed the Tullys and granted RiverRun to the Freys, but instead Lord Tywin Lannister as the Hand of the King (King Joffrey "Baratheon") who made the grant. Therefore it was the King of all Westeros that granted RiverRun to House Frey. The Freys were vassals of the Tullys, while the Tullys were vassals of the King. The Lannisters were of equal rank as the Tullys, so the Lannisters by themselves (ie, without the power of the King) couldn't grant RiverRun to the Freys.

Davos was the father of seven sons, most (I believe) died in battle. With the way he treated Shireen and with his admiration for Lyanna Marmont, no doubt he would have made a fine father to a little girl.
