National security and public safety: Not firing the people who safeguard our nuclear arsenal, our air traffic controllers, and so on. Securing the border but actually having a plan for immigration. Keeping our defensive alliances intact. True strength meaning using our military and economic might with moral clarity like Reagan - unlike the transactional Trump nonsense. AMERICAN leadership in the world, not Chinese or Russian.

That's what most Democrats actually stand for. But the people living in their MAGA bubbles don't understand that. They are only told "they want to trick your kids into thinking they are they/them" and other nonsense.

Slotkin failed to vigorously stand up for the rights of LGTBQIA++ folks, and especially transgender teen athletes who t-rump unfairly attacked viciously.

Because those are irrelevant, non-serious issues that shouldn’t be part of the Democratic Party platform. All the trans stuff is ridiculous and the Democrats need to eject it from all talking points. Less than 1% of the population is truly confused or unhappy with their biological gender. So much energy focused on an issue that affects so few. I say we just leave these poor confused folks alone and worry about real issues that are part of everyone’s daily life like finances, taxes, law and order, etc…. I am a life long Democrat and have never voted for a Republican and I’m exhausted by the constant trans talk. Just let it go.

LGBTQAI+, abortion, and supporting immigration are all we have left. Without it we’re just Republicans. Nobody wants to be a Republican!

Right. They are trying to say the republic is about to fail/be irretrievably corrupted/appoint a dictator for life and oh here is the evil evil evil person who is going to destroy the US forever, I know lets hold up little signs, that’s gonna show him.

🙄

So pathetic.

This is why there is a lack of mass protests. Some small ones of course, but they aren’t acting like the house is on fire.

Because nobody other than some DCUMs and NGO lobbyists thinks the house is actually on fire. I don’t think that is right, by the way. But it is true.

Pathetic. I am disgusted with them. I’m a lifelong democrat who has given my time to the party and I am disappointed in a way I can hardly describe

Given the number of crossover voters Trump got, the bolded is objectively not true.

Protecting the right to an abortion, aka women’s health care and right to bodily autonomy, is a Key Issue and must be a priority. The rights of gay/ homosexual Americans is also an important right that must be protected. These issues relate to large swaths of the American public. Trans stuff does not and should not be treated as an equally important issue. It clearly isn’t. It’s irrelevant to the vast majority of Americans.

And a complete rewrite of this country’s immigration laws is massively over due. We should really model our immigration laws after Canada’s. They have a pragmatic approach which is what we need - balancing various needs within the country thru rationally controlled immigration.

What, you don’t think mildly waving cute little signs is effective against someone they say is destroying democracy as we know it? Surely that can’t be right!

Trump just lied about everything.

That is what he always does.

I am so disgusted by every GOP Congressperson who refuses to stand up and call him out for his lies. WTF is wrong with these people. Some of them must know that what he is doing is going to tank the economy, hurting a lot of hard-working people etc. They are so shallow and corrupt.

The Democrats barely stood up to him either. And they are the ostensible opposition.

NP. It sounds like identity crisis  But yeah, I totally agree with PP. Focusing on all the stuff that already lost you an election is like screaming at a wall to part and let you pass through.

Act like it's the five-alarm fire it is. FIGHT FOR YOUR DAMN COUNTRY.

Johnson is asking Dems to be respectful and not boo etc.

I think they should take a page from the MGT-Boebert playbook and boo and cajole constantly.

Here is what Dems should do:

Every last member should boycott the address. Then stand outside of the Capitol with DOZENS of fired federal workers. Congress people and the fired federal workers taking turns talking with passion to America about the damage the closing of their agency or firings are doing to America. If they can, include foreign leaders against Trump like those from the EU and Canada. Make the news media pay attention to them instead of Trump's address. Invite the press that was kicked out of the WH press pool. Partner with social media influencers to stream this instead of the address. Basically, use the media to drown out Trump's address to Congress as he is giving it.

Now this is a good idea. Why isn't the left doing something like this? Hold your own address.

We did. I know of at least two that were held. The one that I watched as an alternative to Donnie lasted about 6 hours. To be continued.
