My guess is off tomorrow, 2hr delays the rest of the week so that high schoolers don’t have to get to school in the dark with the ice

I doubt plows will get to all of the neighborhood streets by Wednesday morning.

Getting to literally every street is not a requirement to reopen schools. Bus stops are usually on more well traveled roads, which will be plowed.

It basically is and yes, nudes drive on neighborhood roads, especially for elementary school kids. We live across the street from our ES and usually get plowed pretty early but not yet today.

Nudes drive on neighborhood roads? I clearly haven’t been paying attention.

I'm guessing autocorrect but can't figure out what it was supposed to be. Teeheehee.

Buses clearly

Go walk around your neighborhood and realize how wrong that idea is. It’s shin deep.

+1. Even the main road in our neighborhood that leads directly to the public ES has only been minimally plowed and side roads (the busses go on) still haven’t been touched. Tomorrow is a nonstarter. Wednesday is TBD based on removal progress today as well as what does or does not happen tonight.

We live on the main road two blocks from our ES and have seen a plow yet, which is unusual. God knows when they’ll get to the cross streets.

Remember that some kids with special transportation get picked up from their houses, so buses do need to access side roads, and shovel your sidewalks for all of the walkers!

If people want to actually see the road condition, look at Virginia 511. They have traffic cameras you can see the live feed from.

The beltway going from 395 towards Maryland is messy/slushy still as are parts of 66, 50, 236, the fairfax county parkway etc. The parts that have thawed are going to refreeze one cars stop driving on them for the night. My guess is they'll call tomorrow off sometime around dinner tonight and then Wednesday will be a 2 hour delay that has a 50/50 chance of being extended to a closure. If the big roads are still sloppy with more snow expected later tonight, roads will not be clear for buses tomorrow and may not be safe Wednesday.

It’s snowing heavy again at my house . Big fat flakes. Give up the 2 hour delay tomorrow dream.

I could see a 2 hour delay tomorrow mayyyybe if this was it, but there's another 1-3 inches expected later tonight. Tomorrow is for sure off.

After this storm passes, the next snow is expected Saturday not Friday, right?

First one must make the call for the post where someone complains that they can’t believe FCPS hasn’t announced anything yet and how incompetent everyone is.

Then comes the actual call for closure, which we already know will be the call.

I say 2:07 for the complaining post and 4:30 for the actual call by FCPS.

I hope Wednesday will be off as well.

I think the call will be made for tomorrow by 5 pm at the earliest and 7 pm at the latest.

Why?

DP. It is good for the brain to shake things up a bit. Like taking a different route home from work is healthy for your brain.
