White Americans outside urban areas were desperate for a god to follow |
He was a voice that sounded strong for people who felt like they were in a weak position through no fault of their own. And then the world went sideways with COVID, and everything was hell. As a lifelong Democrat, I'd really like to see a Republican party that can do justice in speaking for the people whom it represents. I'd like to see some sanity and to get some real, actual work done. People who stood by this man deserved better. Everyone deserves better. |
Just getting caught up, sorry. Who did this interview and when was it? |
The people it represents are billionaires and evangelicals |
+1. I’d love a Republican Party that was basically sane. That didn’t feel like an existential threat. That I could maybe vote for in good conscience when the Dems went too far astray. Instead we get the guy who tried to overthrow our government when he lost and hallucinates helicopter rides with the mayor of San Francisco. |
Now that you mention Fat Elvis, that’s kind of a good reference for him. Someone still trying to relive their glory days, despite being unhealthy, morbidly obese, and way past their prime. |
