Seems like he is defying the law. And he will unilaterally own the fallout, although it seems certain to face legal challenges.
For a party that just went on about DACA needing to be handled by the law, this must surely be an affront to you. |
Why? |
I think that's a great thing. i want it to collapse.
It was poorly thought out and rammed through. It's been a disaster. No need to throw more money at it. Everywhere this type of government run healthcare is tried, it fails. |
Because the conservatives railed on for the last 8 years about how things needed to be done legislatively. |
Do you know what else was failing, even worse? The healthcare system that preceded the ACA. |
And yet Republicans voted down every option they could come up with. So that means it's better than what we had before, and better than anything the GOP could invent. |
"The Dream Act" failed in congress and never was a law.
DACA - was an end-run around congress by the last administration. If President Trump chooses to dismantle DACA in the same way it was created, that is his prerogative. If you disagree, give legal reasons for your disagreement (and no, "public policy" is not a legal reason). |
Good, can't wait to get single payer going once the ACA crumbles and everyone is sick of rising premiums. |
Without robust consumer protection, it is buyer beware. I hope people who choose to buy cheap insurance policies across state lines are willing to spend a lot of time reading all the fine print so they actually know what their cheap policy covers. Will it be there for you if you have a long and expensive illness. Will it cover services that help keep you healthy?
With the ACA the government ensured that all health insurance policies hit a minimum standard. |
The point is that he is doing to the ACA exactly what you are complaining about. |
Two years is ramming it through?! Ok. |
Yay!! Medical bankruptcy is a great healthcare plan. Great job Republicans. |
I hope that you have canceled your own health insurance since you say that you want others to lose theirs. I am sure that you want to lead by example. |
The problem is the Democrats are painting an unfair picture. While Obamacare has helped many people, it has also HURT many responsible, hardworking middle-income people - and left them with ineffective health plans they can barely afford. Also, don't kid yourselves into thinking Ocare protects against medical bankruptcy. Originally, as part of the sales pitch Obama was putting through, he said the med bankruptcies would be a thing of the past. But when insurance companies were leaving the exchanges due to the expense, Obama (in 2016) quietly inserted a new law that lifted the cap from out-of-network benefits. So if you bought a plan, and then developed a condition that had no in-network specialist (15% of plans are missing key specialists)', you would be SOL even if you paid extra for a plan with out-of-network benefits for added protection! http://thefederalist.com/2017/05/05/dont-forget-people-obamacare-hurts/ |
