That was true for some, not true for others. ACA created an entire new class of "underinsured middle-class Americans." My friend's SIL is a doctor, and he said he saw a big switch in his patient base - many more low income people (getting free care) and much fewer middle income people (who can no longer afford it). |
This cements the GOP's loser status in terms of getting anything done. |
Your friend's SIL?? Who uses a male pronoun? Me thinks you're fibbing. |
Why are so many doctors seeking alternatives? Concierge? Direct? Because the requirements of paperwork, etc. under ACA are untenable. |
They were doing this before ACA. I worked for a doctors office filing insurance for patients. It is an insurance company problem not an ACA problem. Doctors don't want to cut their billable rate for the insurance company and then have to hire people to file for them. |
What do you think the ACA is? It is full of regulations for doctors AND insurers. More than ever before. Doctors are required to sit in front of a computer instead of looking you in the eye--unless they hire a scribe. |
Huh? You're joking. My friend's son-in-law happens to be a male, so I used a male pronoun. This isn't California where that can get me arrested, is it? |
Yes, that's been what I've experienced since ACA. The doctor just looks at a screen, asks me the questions, and types in the answers. And BTW, why was one of the questions whether I had a gun? I objected to that, and the doctor told me Obamacare requires them to ask. |
And the reimbursements are horrible, especially in the Xchange. Doctors have to fill out paperwork and then wait up until 90 days to get maybe $40 for seeing a patient. |
? You really think this part was better under ACA? ACA tried to put all medical records and such on electronic form so doctors could share patient information instead of the the doctor's office making copies then faxing it over, which is what they used to do. I hope you people who are happy about ACA imploding realize that at least in the short term, your rates will sky rocket, and there is no telling how your rates will be post ACA because it wont go back to the way it used to be if the pre-existing clause stays in, which many want to keep. |
They won't spend time reading anything. Then when their flimsy plans fail to cover something serious and they find themselves financially ruined, they'll cast the blame elsewhere. I say that unfortunately, this is an area where people need to get exactly what they are asking for. |
That may be true but even the doctors and their orgs are saying that gutting it without a suitable replacement is not the way to go. |
Can you think of no reason why a having a gun in the house may affect your health? You, as well as spouse and children, are significantly more likely to be injured or killed by a gun if you keep a handgun in the house. |
Ha! I read it as Sister-in-law. My bad. |
Every single medical organization in the country is opposed to what the GOP is trying to do. Every. Single. One.
