Reporter says audio tape is clear.

The school district will probably reverse, but the principal was out of line and should be disciplined.

Sorry, what's wtsp?

Agree that the principal should apologize to the student and be disciplined.

Schools are not a democracy. They have dress codes, zero tolerance for somethings and can decide that students stand for reciting of pledge of allegiance as well as standing for national anthem. Principals run the school not the students.

In Texas, this idiot lawyer will lose.

The Supreme Court of the United States disagrees with you. And has since 1943. But thanks for playing.

Wow, how quickly conservatives forget about the First Amendment.

To be fair, it's not their favorite amendment.

In fact, it is one of their least favorites. Although, These days, they dislike the 15th, 19th and 25th more.

The Supreme Court has expressly said a student can’t be forced to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

And while, yes, the Court does change its mind from time to time, that’s one that is unlikely to change.

The simple fact that you call failing to stand for the Pledge “disrespecting” means that the action falls squarely into the type of political speech the 1st Amendment exists to protect.

That’s why the Court has found all kinds of things related to the flag, including burning it, to be protected speech.

Assuming the facts of this case are as reported, the school district will settle with the student and this will all go away because the PP’s are correct - the school district will lose this one if it goes to court.

So basically why have a Supreme Court. We should just ask you which opinions mean something, and which ones we can ignore. Because Dred Scott.
