I am also a conservative and former teacher... what is the mechanism for not preventing or disrupting? la la la is disrupting the speech of others. Sitting is not. Any teacher should be able to figure this out.

I'm sure you can use whatever discipline procedures you would use when a student is being disruptive during other class activities. What would you do if a student started singing la la la la when his ex-girlfriend was giving a class presentation? That's what you could do to the disruptive student during the pledge.
