Why is everyone from Utah so nice and friendly?

Everyone I have met from Utah has been so damn courteous and friendly.
What is it about Utah that makes people from there so nice?

On the surface, absolutely. Utah has the highest per capita consumption of anti-depressants of any state. There is a reason for this.

I lived in a suburb of SLC for a bit and I was one of the few women in the neighborhood who didn't have a boob job or get regular Botox injections.

Seriously though, Utah is a kind of intolerant place. Look at the recent fights for LGBT rights, and the resulting "compromise". And women's rights aren't exactly held in high regard there either.
