Why is everyone from Utah so nice and friendly?

What is so wrong with looking white?

I find this interesting, and assume it's related to the Mormon prohibition on alcohol and other substances. People are less likely to self-medicate with booze, and seek out actual medical assistance instead? Or they're more depressed because of their restrictive lifestyle? I can't decide if this is a positive indicator or negative.

Very high stress environment under the surface. Tremendous pressure to make money and increase your tithe to the church. Prestige is directly correlated with size of annual donations. Strong pressure for conformity also places stress on church members.

They want to convert you

It's superficial.

This is what I've heard. People are incredibly pleasant in a superficial way, but unless you are one of them (mormon) it's very hard to make a friend.

No it's not.

Seriously though, Utah is a kind of intolerant place. Look at the recent fights for LGBT rights, and the resulting "compromise". And women's rights aren't exactly held in high regard there either.

Exactly. Also, everyone looks like this:

What is the problem with how they look? White family. Big deal.

Drop the race card. Is skin all you can see? Presumably the PP was referring to the matching t-shirts.

And the long shorts. And the 4 kids. Is this a nice family? Probably. Is this what every family should look like? I don't think so.

Nothing is wrong with it, and nobody has said that there is.

Fresh mountain air.

Or a developed immunity to elevation sickness that manifested itself as uber politeness.

Either or.

OK, so what does PP mean when she says not every family should look like this?

Pp who posted the pic here. Yes to this. It's not just that they're white, it's the whole package-white, four kids, matching shirts, conservative dress, etc.
