We had a bunch of family members over for dinner last night. One of the younger kids asked for an iPhone charger so he could play his games.
MIL and SIL were the last to leave and as I was going to bed, I went to get my charger and couldn't find it. DH checked our canary that was facing the family room and sure enough, SIL straight up took my charger out of the socket and put it in her purse. WTF. |

She may have just had a thoughtless moment or she may have deliberately stolen it. Assume it's the first option and ask her to return it.
It's weird that you record what's going on in your house at all times. |
| You must have a really bad relationship with her to assume she stole it, rather than thought it was hers. Just ask for it back. |
| Ask for it back |
| It was probably an accident. I once grabbed my friends phone instead of mine. Just text her and let her know you need it to charge your phone. |
I know, but we Airbnb so yeah, it makes sense. And now it makes sense to keep it on when she comes over. |
Why would someone think the charger that I plugged into the socket in my house is hers? |
| Chargers are $1 at Dollar Tree. |
| I forgot to mention she took painkillers from a family friend a few months ago when she went for dinner. They actually had them go missing once, so the next time she came over, they planted some in the same room again, and sure enough, those were gone too. |
Not this one. |
So they actually engineered a sting operation in their home to catch her stealing? Planting drugs to see if she would take them? And then talked about it with other people behind your SOL's back? What a sorry group. |
| Just ask for it back. You're making this a bigger thing than it is. Also, it's super weird that you record your own house - airBNB or not. Do people know that you're recording them? That sounds illegal. |
| People forget things. I have taken my parents hangers that they put into a room for me to use. I just spaced that I didn't ring my own and thought it was mine. Just ask for it back and don't make a big thing. It could be her kid that took it out and gave to her to put away too. |
No, she doesn't have kids. And that kid left and the charger was still there. |
I guess so. Can't say why they handled it this way, but they did. I would have put up cameras myself. Lol. In any case, they called my DH and told him because they wanted him to bring it up with her. |
