I have a big family, and after vacation, I'm pretty sure no one goes home with the cords they brought.

But the pain killers is a problem you do need to focus on. She needs help, so work on that.

It depends on the state. It is sometimes illegal to record without making people aware in a private place where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy. In MD, you need 2 party consent.

I would be livid if I found out a family member recorded me without my permission. Who does that? OP, you sound 100% certifiable. I doubt your story about the painkillers. I think you made that up when you didn't get the outrage you expected over the phone charger.

No, I wish I had made up that story, but it's true. But that's probably why I instantly jumped to the conclusion she stole my charger instead of giving her the benefit of the doubt.
