BFN at 12dpo

I did my first medicated IUI and things looked great - I had two perfect sized mature follicles and DH's count was really strong. I am currently 12dpiui, and I think 12dpo, and got a BFN this morning on a FRER. My beta is not scheduled until Monday, which will be 16dpiui.

I have not gotten AF yet (who could come anytime now) but am I out? I did have a swipe of red discharge Sunday night, which I assumed was the start of AF... but it went away and I have had nothing since.

Anyway, just curious if anyone ever tested at 12 dpo and got a BfN but was in fact pregnant.

Yes, I have. Most recent IUI I didn't get a positive until 16dp IUI. But I'm also pretty sure I ovulated a few days after the IUI. You're most likely out, but the game isn't over yet.

With my last IVF (a 5 day set) I didn't get a positive until late on 13dpo. I was sure it failed but I'm 25 weeks now. good luck

I have done NINE ivf- 4 chemical pregnancies, 3 pregnancies, two BFN. i always tested positive by 12DPO, even with the chemicals. Like another poster said, I wouldn't hold my breath. I've read stories on fertility boards about people getting BFP after 12DPO, but I've never personally experienced that and my experience was that even trace amounts of HCG got picked up by then

Ugh, thanks. I know you're all right. I just wish ny period would show up already. I was expecting it yesterday but nothing.

No I did not. I had started to surge on my own so they had me skip the trigger. I continued to use OPKs and am pretty sure that ovulation happened at least 3-4 days after the IUI.

That doesn't sound like great timing to me. Are you temping at all?

Not temping. I confirmed with my RE later that my clinic was NOT supposed to do the IUI that early. I was using the ClearBlue OPKs and was getting a blinky face when they did the IUI. Blinky face continued for several days and turned solid 3.5 days after the IUI. So I'm pretty sure that's when ovulation occurred.

Are you on progesterone? That will delay your period most likely. I always stop taking it when I get a negative at 13 dpiui

OP here, I am waiting until tomorrow to test as I figure 14dpiui will be more accurate than 13dpiui, and I only have one test left.

My RE said I have to keep taking my progesterone until Monday regardless, because HPT's can be wrong - although I highly doubt it will be. I just want to get my period and move on already. After 18 months of TTC this is getting exhausting.

I would just do the test in the am so you know when the re calls you. You should see a positive by 13dp iui. I'm sorry.

You should be able to test and get a reliable answer. Taking the progesterone is what's keeping your period away. Your clinic is doing a medicated IUI with no monitoring?
