I have my beta appointment on Monday so I will see my RE then. My clinic only monitors before the IUI, not after. Do other clinics do monitoring between IUI and starting a new cycle?
I have been on progesterone before and still got my period even while on it, so no clue what is happening this time. |
| It is normal to start your period 14 days after you ovulate so not starting yet is totally normal. I know it sucks waiting, though. |

OP again, I took a test this morning and there was a very, very faint line which showed up in the 3 min range. I showed DH and there was definitely something vs the one I took on Thursday, but it was so light it wouldn't even photograph.
So not sure what to think. I would think at this point it should have been much stronger so maybe it's just some kind of weird evap or something. At this point I am out of tests and will just have to wait until my beta on Monday. |
So happy to hear this, OP. I'm here holding out hope along with you. A line is a line! |
| Oh OP you can't leave us hanging like that! Go buy some more home pregnancy tests. I'm way too invested in your story now! |
Haha. Trust me, I would love to but we are away for the weekend with friends kind of in the middle of nowhere and don't have our own car. I offered to do the grocery shopping but my friend wanted to come too and I didn't want to buy more tests in front of her. Will probably end up running out for more when we get home tomorrow night. I will be back to share soon. |
| Hope it works out OP. A line is a line. Are you using first morning urine? |
Yep, used first morning urine. As much as I would love to test when I get home tonight, thinking it will be better to wait until tomorrow AM for accuracy. This is just so frustrating... with it last pregnancy (which ended in a MC) I had a positive at 10dpo. |
|
So today's update... took another test this morning and the line was still faint but definitely darker than the last test I took. Heading to see my RE for a beta this morning so trying to remain cautiously optimistic. After TTC for nearly 2 years and one not so fun MMC, I have seriously low expectations.
I have had this dull pain in my left side for the past few days - it almost feels like a cramp from running, or a gas pain. But it doesn't seem to be going away. So of course I am slightly worried it could be the sign of an ectopic. Really hoping not, and even if the test comes back positive it will be too early to see anything. Please send good thoughts. |

Hoping that this is it for you OP!
I had a dull ache on one side during my first healthy pregnancy. I freaked out at 6 weeks and was 99% sure it was an ectopic. It was so localized and felt like it was right where my ovary is (roughly). Nope, no idea what it was, but that ultrasound to check it out was the first time I saw my baby girl's heartbeat. I thought it was going to be one of the worst day's of my life, and instead, it turned joyous. I hope that's the case for you OP. |
| Keep us posted on your beta as soon as you know OP |

OP again, just got off the phone with the nurse and my HCG is 35.9. I asked if that seems really low, given than I am 16dpiui today and they said they are totally fine with that number, what matter is that it doubles in 48 hours so I have to go back on Weds for another beta.
I still feel like that number is low and makes no sense... but I guess only time will tell. I triggered on Thursday July 27 at 11pm and had my IUI on Saturday the 29th. DH and I did not have sex at all after the IUI. Is it possible to ovulate later than 48 hours with a trigger? I had one egg on each side so can they be released at different times? |
You have to start somewhere! I think given that you did IUI and not IVF, there is maybe some wiggle room for time/dating. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you see this number double! |
|
I think there is wiggle room on the dating OP. Also some embryos will take longer to attach than others, the dating works off of averages.
Hope you get good news on your next beta, keep us posted! It's the doubling that counts. |
I have had 4 chemical pregnancies- they were all IVF, not IUI - but my betas were around there. One was 23, one was in the 30's, one was around 12, and one as high as 50. for IVF, my clinic likes to see a beta over 70 for 14DPO (which is 9 days past 5 days transfer). I would be realistic with your expectations. It MAY turn out ok, but it doesn't look good, I am now on my third pregnancy (2 live births, and now in second trimester with another IVF recently). All of those had beta over 100 on 14DPO. my chemicals were all less than 50. Just trying to provide info to help you guide your expectations, but in dealing with so many chemicals, I did read stories online of people who had those miracles with super low betas that turned out ok. so it CAN happen. I just don't like to get invested in the miracle stories, personally. |
