What's up with the 10 day break between April 12 - April 22?

Likely related to Easter and the traditional post-Easter spring break.

This may be the weakest schedule Landon has ever played. Very interresting.

Landon's schedule is alright... not weak by any means but certainly not nearly as strong as the Coach Bordley days. Remember it's a new head coach, will be interesting to see how it all shakes out come IAC league play in May.

Also, I heard the WCAC - IAC challenge was coming back in late May at Catholic University again which is great for area HS lacrosse. Hopefully, we will see additional cross-league matchups in May when it counts more. I'm not sure how the tournament's seedings were determined last season, but maybe the event organizers can pair Landon vs SJC in one of the earlier rounds.

Landon is playing the MIAA's 6th, 7th, and 8th place teams and 2 Virginia teams that would come in last place in the IAC. They also get to play the MD public state champion. I would not call this schedule "alright". I agree with the PP that called this one of Landon's weakest all time schedules.

Rather play weak public schools than one of the best teams in the nation that is right down the street. Soft

Where are you getting that Landon is playing the MIAA's 6th and 7th and 8th place teams?

Saint Mary's made it to the MIAA semi-finals last year only to lose to BL (the eventual 2020 champion) In 2019, Saint Mary's made it to the MIAA finals and ended up losing to Calvert Hall (who three-peated I believe. Saints Mary's is a top 4 program in the MIAA based on recent success over the past few seasons. (BL, Calvert Hall and McDonogh garner most of the attention in that league in recent memory but the Saints have been super competitive the past few seasons).

Spalding had one excellent season last year but prior to last Spring, I wouldn't have ever considered Spalding even close to a top team in the MIAA. (Spalding and MSJ historically have been towards the bottom of the MIAA) Was last year a total fluke or the result of a strong 2022 class? Can the Cavs sustain their recent success or will they be a one-hit-wonder?

St. Pauls will be good this Spring (they were very young last year). I'd put the Crusaders up against anyone from the WCAC except St Johns and maybe Gonzaga. Truthfully a middle-of-the-road MIAA team would beat the pants off most teams from the WCAC. (too many novice lax parents on here read way too much into results from NHSLS during summer and fall ball..)

Pretty sure Landon has also historically played Severn for years.

I'd agree with your previous statement about the 2 Virginia private school teams who compete in the VISSA. STAB is average to decent depending on the year (they had a very good year with Connor Shellenberger in 2019) and Norfolk Academy is OK but nothing special.

Even in the very good 2019 year with Shellenberger and Emmet Barger, STAB lost twice to SSSAS.

Calvert Hall defeated St Mary's in the 1/4 finals. St Mary's did not make it to the MIAA semi-finals.
Landon is not playing Spalding. Spalding is a top team in the MIAA.
St Paul's went 4 - 7 last season and has very little talent.
Severn and St Mary's will be battling for 6th place in 2022.

Landon does have to play Prep, SSSA, and Bullis. (These are the 3 most difficult games on the schedule). Maybe Landon has games to add??

Based on the back to back dates in March, the StAB and NA games are probably a spring break trip of some kind for the Bears.

SJC has a tough schedule (its first 3 games are a brutal stretch plus Hill Academy from Canada on 3/25) but the SJC boosters really need to pump the breaks here.

I see 6 teams on this schedule who probably wouldn't win a game in the IAC. (Ryken, O'Connell, The Heights, Bishop Ireton, Good Counsel).

St Mary’s was the 3 seed last year beat Calvert hall in regular season than lost to Calvert hall in the quarter finals. Injuries and covid did them in the end the season.

“Probably”

League games. Not much you can do about those but I’d say GC and the Heights could compete with Episcopal.

Ryken, O'Connell, The Heights, Bishop Ireton, Good Counsel are all WCAC teams. They have to play them unless I am mistaken.

Episcopal who came in last place in the IAC last year beat PVI who ended up in 2nd place in the WCAC.

WCAC is a big-time football and basketball conference, stop trying to pretend it's a big-time lacrosse conference because it has 2 teams that can compete on the big stage now. (Gonzaga and SJC)

Unfortunately IAC doesn’t have any ready to play on big stage this year.
