What WILL lead to change?

Certainly not that.

It at least makes rational sense, as opposed to burning down Auto Zone. Which sadly also was done.

One article showed a few self-described "redneck types" in a group which included a black man too, holding semi auto rifles outside a business . "We support the protesters and the police have to answer for this, but they are NOT going to burn down this business"

I'm sure you conveniently haven't heard that the man who busted up the windows and set the auto zone on fire was a cop? They started this and they are egging it on. Look at the videos of cop cars just indiscriminately pepper spraying a peaceful crowd as they drive by. These people are not rioting by themselves.

Any corroborated account of that?

No. In fact the PD has denied it.
This is the problem with Twitter. Fake News travels fast. We've seen it happen quite a bit the past 4 years.

Yeah okay. Local news outlets are reporting it. What do you expect the PD to say? Oh darn, you caught us!

As I said, Twitter fake news spreads fast. Aided by the media.
Mark my words..... they guy is NOT a police officer. Sounds good for the SJWs, though.

Mark my words...Cops are egging this on. This is not one side losing it's shit while the other is calm and professional. The city is at war and the cops are fighting dirty.

What color is the sky in your world?

In the world I live in, cops murdered a man in handcuffs and got to walk away free. Zero consequences. If the murderers don’t get arrested because they’re cops, the police force is no more than a government funded terrorist organization.

Where has it been decided that none of the cops will be prosecuted? You dont immediately charge people because the mob wants you to. You look at the facts and determine whether you should. That's how this society works.

Right. Like the measured and detailed investigation Floyd got before he was arrested and then executed on the street?

I didnt say that was right either, but you don't suspend due process rights because someone may have done it to someone else. What you're advocating for is mob rule.

You keep posting this drivel about due process. All an arrest requires is reasonable suspicion of a crime. THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH SUSPICION.

Why does it matter whether hes arrested now or 5 days from now? To assuage the mob? That's simply the only reason

Not downplaying the horribleness of what happened but it's not just a problem for black people. White people are far more likely to be killed by cops by numbers alone (not by percentage of pop, though).

It's a cop problem.

Minneapolis seems like a sad, strange flyover city with racism.

Up until recent events, no minneapolis was very much seen as a thriving up and coming city. But that's out the window.

This whole thing is a christmas present to the president. If this had remained peaceful they would have had the upper hand and the weight of public opinion.

It's not downplaying. Those are the facts. We have a cop problem. Period.

Minneapolis has had a large number of incidents of police violence over the past few years. This didn’t spring up out of nowhere.
“Police accountability experts, court documents, stalled state legislation and a 2015 report by the U.S. Justice Department about policing in Minneapolis all point to a clear pattern: Even as officials have made some changes, law enforcement agencies have lacked either the authority or the will to discipline and remove bad officers from patrol. They have also failed to set clear criteria on the use of force and de-escalation.”

I heard that question and thought the same thing. But there is a separate video which seems to have been taken after they left the autozone. It shows both of them coming down a grassy berm and then walking together down a sidewalk for at least 25 yards before that video cuts off. So I don't know, it could be that the kid in pink is still trying to get the goods on umbrella man. When I rewatched the first one I was no longer sure that the kid was the one asking if he was a cop.

+1
I've never been but I know it has art, music, parks, diversity, and a strong economy. What an ignoramus.

The second video was on a long twitter thread that started with someone retweeting Ellison's tweet.
