I am certain that her questions were carefully written out in advance. That said, she delivered the goods, and very nicely. Contrast with experienced lawyers who have melted down in similar situations (remember Gowdy?)
Big win for her.
Her four minutes of questioning basically opened the doors to three future, separate investigations related to insurance fraud, tax fraud, and estate planning fraud. All of which will require accessing all of the Trump family's tax returns going back decades, plus the corporate books of the Trump Org.
Yes. I appreciated, too, the way she followed up on her colleagues’ questions and got specific names and places to pursue as a result. One of my frustrations with these hearings is the way each MC is a lone actor, not coordinating with each other to create a narrative or achieve a coherent result. With her follow up questions, she used her time to ameliorate that. Plus she was very businesslike and focused on getting information, not showboating. At the same time, by asking about the Trump golf course in her district, she was actually able to demonstrate to her own constituents that she was looking out for them.
All in all, a pretty impressive job.
