People are interested in this. Just because you do not like the fact that the "changers" were wrong about the influx of private funds, does not make it unimportant. Hopefully, the SB will not fall for that next time. And, maybe, just maybe, this will get the attention of the changers and they will contribute. |
+1. The contributions to date are well below what the Changers predicted. Whether those predictions were always exaggerated or the Board caused this by deciding to rename the school after a concept, rather than a person, isn't clear. They had an opportunity to rename the school after a woman, a black man, or a Hispanic man, and they punted. Now it seems no one is enthusiastic with the result. |
No matter the name, the "promise" of donations was bogus. SB could have passed it dependent on funds or something like that. |
Why? This is a perfect example of people advocating and then when requests for money appear ... Furthermore it's an additional budget expense. Who is paying for this? I'm loath to contribute since my property taxes already pay a disproportionate amount for that school. IB, lower class sizes, NO federal money for illegals/unaccompanied minors Obama shafted upon us. And I'm a Democrat. |
How is the effort to recall Evans going? |

Thank you for your donations Sure, private donations will pay for it. |
Wasn't there a hollywood star spearheading this name change? How much has she contributed? Her donation shoukd be significant. |
How do your tax dollars pay a "disproportionate" amount for "that" school LOL? |
Assume PP means that the dollars spent per student at that school are higher than average, given the large ESOL population and IB, among other things. People in other parts of the county with significantly larger class sizes aren't jumping at the opportunity to spend even more money on this school. |

Any school with IB gets a disproportionate share. It costs more than AP. Plus that school has numerous extra programs. Staffing ratios? Here's world languages which is really extra ESOL staff. Just like dual immersion. https://www.fcps.edu/academics/high-school-academics-9-12/world-languages Pathway to baccalaureate "Guaranteed admission with fee waiver to George Mason University with a 2.85 GPA and completed associate’s degree." Anyone else get into GMU after CC with a 2.85? https://www.fcps.edu/academics/academic-overview/college-success-program/pathway-baccalaureate-and-pathway-connection |

Thank you for your donations! One week. No additions. Maybe Thanksgiving weekend will bring gratitude for Justice. |
It's become clearer than ever that Sandy Evans made a giant blunder in not going along with Elizabeth Schultz to rename the school after an individual. Very few people with money to contribute like this "Justice" name. What a debacle! |
is there a list of donors? Have Sandy and Janie and Pat and Dalia and Ryan contributed? Maybe they could gift their stipend to help fund changing the name. |
