Yes I saw it. The target of their attack weren't random people on the street, but counter-demonstration people who did not have a permit to be there. Antifa/BLM members gathered at the statue the night before, even before the permitted demonstrators showed up, you saw that video right? Here's a link to CNN page: http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/13/us/charlottesville-white-nationalist-rally-car-crash/index.html Antifa and BLM counter protesters were throwing rocks and bottles at the white nationalists, as per their usual mode of making their "voices" heard. Notice what the white nationalist demonstrators brought with them: shields. Again, nothing excuses violence towards another person, but lets not pretend this is a one-sided act of violence. There is plenty of blame to go around here and ultimately it is a failure of the VA government to enforce the law and keep the peace. Why Antifa/BLM members were allowed to stay without a permit is beyond me. |
Thanks for posting this. Who gives a shit if protesters have weans (which 95 pct did not) when the Trump supporters showed up armed to the teeth? This man should have been thrown in jail. |
Antifa=the latest conservative boogeyman straw man concocted by the right to distract from violence in Trump's name. |
So that makes it ok? Every time people say, "Nothing excuses violence towards another person, but..." what they're really saying is, "I'm excusing violence towards another person, so that we can get on to this other issue, which is that one that I consider really important." |
Here are some of the "violent leftists" who had those 20-year-old neo-nazi kluckers scared for their lives ... They look very dangerous.

Reading comprehension problems? I didn't say it's okay. But lets not twist the narrative into something it is not. It's very different to say "A violent group of people attacked innocent bystanders" versus "Two violent groups clashed." Again, there is no excuse for violent behavior, people who acted out in violence against others, except in self defense, should be brought to justice and face the full consequence under our laws. This include white nationalists, Nazis, Antifa members, and BLM activists. |
Kudos to those who showed up to express disdain at the bigotry of Nazis and KKKs. Fascists and white supremacists should know beyond a doubt that their hatred is unwelcome in any part of America. |
Cherry picking your photos doesn't help your cause, in fact it undermines it. Because it only take a quick effort to google for photos like these:

So, kudos for throwing rocks, bottles and pepper spraying people who are legally and lawfully assembling in a public space by permit? I see who the real fascists are... |
Oh, is the t-shirt about Nazis hurting your feewings? https://mobile.twitter.com/Harryslaststand/status/896503700033810438 |
There is nothing wrong with the "killing Nazis is my heritage" one. Many of us have relatives who fought in WWII. No reason she shouldn't use that on a sign. |
Which is great if the City can secure the protest. Here, they knew in advance it was dangerous to have hundreds of people with automatic weapons assemble in a small space, and that police didn't have the space they needed to keep the groups apart. They didn't try to cancel it mind you. They tried to move it to a safer location. The Nazis, on the other hand, lit a fire in the theater, and then acted surprised that there was fire damage. |
I agree, but I'm pretty sure that's a man holding the sign. |
| We used to be proud of people who killed Nazis. Now Trump supporters have mixed feelings about that heritage while celebrating rebel traitors. Un-American as hell. |
Certainly better than wearing a tshirt that says, "Killing Jews is my heritage", or "Owning slaves is my heritage", or "My ancestors supported treasonous beliefs [seceding from the US]". |
