Ask me anything: I am a kept woman

OP said she grew up lower middle class. These kids are going to have a much better life than she could possibly dream of -- even if their father is a cheating douche.

Money does NOT buy a good life, happiness or a sense of self. Those poor kids are going to grow up with a very skewed understanding of self-worth because their parents are f-ed up, and OP is not helping matters.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather grow up working class with a happy, stable, loving family than with money and parents whose relationship is based upon deceit and betrayal.

I don't know. I wouldn't want to do anything to compound his wife's grief. I'd have to think hard about that.

What do you mean "compound his wife's grief"? Would you try to stake a claim to his assets? Show up to his funeral? Ask her for your rent money?

If he died, it would just be...over. Done. There really would be nothing left for you. You do get that, right?

Huh? Of course I wouldn't stake a claim to his assets. I don't know why you'd even think that? Someone asked if I would go to the funeral and I just said I'm not sure.

The mourners at his funeral would be her circle of friends/family/support not your's. You do understand that, don't you?

Meh! I am being facetious. I am sure no one thinks that OP is real, not a troll, mentally stable!

Do you know how difficult it is to even have an affair? The logistics involved? And this high profile man is keeping a young mistress for 4 years without being outed? Sorry, in this conservative town - it is just not happening! Especially not in a setting where the man in question was in a professional setting, where reputations matter.

It happens. My boyfriend hasn't been found out and he's had me for almost 4 years

You are wrong! It happens and has happened to my personal knowledge and it will not be found out as long as one takes a few precautions and most important: the two parties to the affair don't share that information with anyone else.

OP probably means that it might compound his widow's grief if she suspects he has a mistress. OP is neither a colleague, family member nor a family friend, so her presence at the funeral might be "something to talk about".

You have this entire board in a tizzy about something that may or may not be true. I guess many on this board are thinking there but for the grace of God go I (being the wife that everyone feels is being wronged)

Your only competition is the wash cloth butt and genitals thread.

Which one is more disgusting though?

It's all hypothetical, of course. It could all be true, but it's probably not. We all know that. Some of the details don't quite add up, but it's sort of an interesting little interactive soap opera.

Or some of us find the scenario interesting because we have had no experience with it in real life.

Oh, I don't know. It looks like the OP and her guy are in a symbiotic relationship.

And how does the 'kept woman' weigh in on the 'wash cloth butt and genitals' debate?

It happens more often than you think ....... of course, the perks enjoyed by the one being "kept" may be less or more.

Usually these affairs are faaaar less glitzy and the other woman gets faaaar less compensation than what the Op is getting. But, ya, they happen. And really this scenario is not that much different than the typical run of the mill affair.

Should we assume that her and her man use different wash cloths? How do they handle that?

And hopefully never will. My parents raised me with too much self-respect to share a man with another woman.

In my early 20s- the last thing I wanted was a used, loser with a wife and kids.

OP sounds like a prostitute. Sex for $ and gifts.
