She's definitely guilty of the OUI manslaughter charged levied against her. I think she's also guilty of the murder 2, which doesn't require intent to kill but merely intent to do an act that is reckless in the extreme and shows disregard for human life - like intending to back your 6000lb vehicle in the direction of a human body at relatively high speed for any reason, whether to side swipe and knock the person on their arse or whether to simply come close and thereby scare them or piss them off. The Lexus EDR data seems irrefutable that the driver of that vehicle engaged in an intentional backing of the vehicle for 60+ feet at 24mph. It's going to be interesting to see how the case unfolds this time. I certainly believe that a jury could find her guilty to a moral certainty of all of the charges against her. It all comes down to the jury and as anyone who watches our justice system carefully or who works in it knows, one jury can find NG on the very same facts that another has no trouble finding G. I'm not going to lose any money placing bets on the outcome, that's for sure. |
| Why are all these people drinking to the point of oblivion? |
That was possibly his only good question. |
There is no evidence that anybody else was drunk to oblivion beyond Karen Read who was 2-4x the legal limit. John O'Keefe was substantially intoxicated, but he wasn't driving. |
| Jen McCabe says she doesn’t know when she did the google search? I KNOW when she did the google search. She is making this unnecessarily difficult and arduous. It makes her look sketchy. The poor poor jurors. |
Isn’t there surveillance video from the bar where the group had gathered that shows a lot of the drinking in which the group members were engaged? |
No, you don't - not if you think it was 2:27am, which has be soundly and thoroughly debunked by Cellebrite. |
If they have the bar receipts/footage to know how many drinks KR had, then they have the ability to know how many drinks everyone else had. It's knowable information. |
They did and Karen Read said she was adding shots to her vodka seltzers because they weren’t strong enough for her. They tasted watered down so she is counting each drink as one when they really are two. |
This. They probably know that in hindsight too. So many drunk idiots, lots of reasonable doubt. |
They're working really hard getting her $50 million dollar net worth out of mainstream media and out of the knowledge of the jury. Thats suspicious. |
No. The link is fake and made up. That is not the web address for nytimes.com |
He was asking her about the googling for the basketball stuff. |
Right, and isn’t it also possible to see how much other people present with this group were drinking? For example, you can see a group of several people, including the defendant, doing shots around a table at one point. Clearly many members of the group were drinking. They were at a bar, after all. |
| I think it’s clear he didn’t go in the house. It’s just not clear/provable how he got the head injury that killed him. Her car did not impact his head. |
