I like Faith but I don't see their connection at all. I watched the last episode after reading all the comments about it and I was really confused. Their hometown date seemed so forced. |
I think there was physical attraction but their lifestyles did not remotely jibe. I also wish the show would address religion differences more frankly. She's Mormon. |
I saw more of a connection in earlier episodes. I feel like by the last episode she, and maybe he too, had already decided this wasn’t going to work. Maybe because of lifestyles, or because she’s Mormon, maybe she really did need to stay near her dead horse, or some other reason we didn’t see. I’m guessing her dead horse was just an excuse. |
She was the only one (other than Leslie) who didn't look like she'd had a face lift. |
Uh huh. It’s not clear these were good marriages for even a short period of time. Most of her conversations, and all her brother could talk about, is how she makes serial bad choices. I don’t doubt that he would be good for her, even a white knight. But is she suddenly ready to settle down with a guy who’s 10 years older? The only reason she’s looking at him now is that he’s the bachelor. Also, will she be good for him? |
I am pretty confident the reason for the cliff hanger is because he feels terrible about telling Faith he loves her IN FRONT OF HER WHOLE FAMILY and knows he's going to drop her. |
I’m not sure Theresa had a full-on face lift, although she’s had work done. But yeah, he dumped Edith with the gorgeous grey hair pretty quickly. |
My prediction: the winner is Theresa and he will either dump her because she smothers him or stay with her even though she makes him miserable. |
Seems like the type to stay and be miserable. |
I’m pretty confident Faith deliberately took herself out of the running, and her family will be OK with her decision, whatever her reason. Even if it’s truly that she can’t leave her beloved dead horse, her family will understand this. |
+1. I also wish they addressed geographic differences more frankly. Leslie and Theresa live 9 and 11 hours away from him. Leslie was the only one to force that convo, which makes me respect her more. But as we’re probably going to see on Friday, geography can be a deal-breaker. |
*** Faith not Leslie forced that conversation |
He's probably discussed it with all of them. They talk about lots of things that don't make the edit. |
Well first of all, the show comes up with a narrative for each contestant, and Leslie's is that she's had bad luck in love. I'm sure it's not the only thing she's talked to Gerry about, but it's what the producers are showing us. Second, I'm younger than Leslie and have also made bad choices with men (though I've never married one of them), and I'd love to settle down with a man like Gerry, even if he's a bit too old for me. It seems a bit unfair to say that a woman who has had bad luck in love should never be able to settle down with a good man. (Women like me are generally coached to lie about our relationship history, the assumption being that a man will mistreat a woman who admits that she's' been mistreated. Gerry, however, seems to default to treating women well, even if they might not love themselves or have experienced love, which is why he's a mensch, and why all the women like him). She's probably wanted a man like Gerry for a long time but for whatever reason (poor self-esteem, the kind of guys she's been exposed to) has never had the opportunity to date one. As for whether or not she'd be good for him, that's up to him. I still think he's going to choose Theresa in the end, but I think Leslie is a good mix of basic and exciting. |
For me, Joan was the only one who'd had very obvious work done, because it was either done too close to filming or it just wasn't done well. Almost all of them have done botox and fillers, some better/worse than others. Kathy and Theresa stand out among the bad. Whatever Faith and Edith had done looked good. Leslie might actually be completely natural because she's quite wrinkled, but she looks good. |
