If you are about 5 foot 3 inches what do you weigh to fit into a size 4? I was a zero about 2 years ago and didn't feel very healthy. In fall 2016 I was very ill, on bedrest for 5 weeks while on steroids, this caused me to gain 40 pounds. Steroids were terrible. I am now maybe 145 but barely fitting into a size 8. I have no idea what my weightloss goal should be.
I do not want to be a size zero but I also do not like my current weight. I gain in my arms and legs so I look weird. Any advice you can offer or a goal weight to set? I've never had this issue before so I feel confused and just do not know where to start. |
| At 5'4", I'm a size 4 at 125-130. |
Thank you. I feel like even 5 pounds make a huge difference when you are short(er). I can finally exercise and feel well enough to do the physical activity. Maybe I will set 10 or 15 pound goals then see how I feel at 130 and go from there. |
5'3'' 112 lb. |
| 5'3" and look and feel my best at 122. I've got boobs, muscle tone and hips and wear a 2 or 4 depending on the cut and brand. |
| 5'3.5 and I'm 126 post childbirth. My goal is 115. Before pregnancy I was 110 but I now have huge boobs. I'm hoping I'll look thin at 115. |
| Rule of thumb is 100 at 5'0 and 5 lbs for every inch after. So at 5'3 110-115 is going to be best probably. Obviously there's outliers, please nobody who is 123 and looks great come for me. |
This. |
This is OP. I was 112 and a size zero and really didn't look great at all. Looking at my photos I was really skeletal. I think for my particular body type I need to be a little heavier to not look sick, maybe 118 or 120. I'm going to begin with a goal of 130. |
Same here. I'm up to 132, and I take a 6 in more fitted things but I also don't like to wear tight clothes. At 120 pounds I was a 2-4. However, I don't think you can put an arbitrary "ideal weight" on a height. It depends on your shape and body composition. I personally don't think skinny fat is attractive so someone may weigh 105 pounds but I don't see that as ideal. I think women who have muscles and are into fitness have ideal bodies (just my personal opinion) so they'll weigh more, but look amazing. |

It all depends on your build. I'm an athletic 5'3" (running, yoga, weights etc.) I am also a C cup. I'm 145 and a solid size 4...size 2 in vanity brands like Gap/Ann Taylor etc.
I weigh A LOT more than I look because if muscle. The goal is to be healthy, feel good in your skin/clothes and having energy to be active. |
| I'm 5'3", size 2-4, 130 lbs - but I'm fit and athletic. I'd like to be 125 maybe, but 5 pounds is the difference between being happy with how much I can eat & workout and be satisfied... I'm happy at 130 for my frame. |
| Meh - I'm 132 and wear a size 4, pants size 27, and size small or extra small. but I tend to shop pricier labels that use vanity sizing. I'm sure I'd be a size 6 in other brands. Trying to lose weight to get down to about 123. Ideally, I'd love to be 115 but would basically have to give up everything to do that. I wore a size 0 or 2 when I weighed 123, and a 00 at 119 so I think I'm heavier-framed. |
That's because PP's "rule of thumb" is BS. Find the weight you look and feel best in. The medical guidelines for healthy weight give you some latitude. |
| I'm 5'3 and waver between 115 and 120, but I'm an endurance athlete and have very low body fat and a lot of muscle. At this weight I wear a size 24 Jean and XXS in athleta (larger in tops because I have small implants). |
