How do you come to terms with losing your looks?
I am 30 and my face and body are melting. Throughout my twenties I was considered quite a dish. Tight petite body, long luscious hair, dark features. A hint of makeup and a tight dress later I was ready to turn heads and rule any social scene. Now I have a fat belly, flabby arms and my face looks gaunt with new eye bags and creases between eyebrows. Its astounding! I do not turn heads anymore and have retreated to a uniform of yogapants and tops. I miss my old face and body so much.

30 and losing your looks. That is rough!
Do you know why this happened? Smoking, drinking, lack of sleep, late nights, yo-yo dieting, sun-worshipping, stress, underlying health issues, parenthood, pregnancy and childbirth? |
|
I've never had any so that's a non-issue. Thanks for helping me realize there's an upside to being ugly!
Why don't you just accept that your prime has apparently passed, and it's the younger ladies turn now? You had your decade. This is theirs, you know? |
Was never a drinker or smoker. I slept okay but not enough due to work and social life. Tried to stay out of the sun. The big thing is probably stress. I went through some major life changes in the past few years. |
| Dude, you need to work out. Hard. You should be in the best shape of your life. |
Surely you suspected your looks would be temporary. |
| You're done |

Lol and you haven't even had kids yet I assume?
You might die when you see what THAT does to your body. |
no kids yet. |
Lack of good quality, ample, regular and rejuvenating sleep will create big health (physical and mental) issues for you. You will also not be able to manage stress better nor have the immunity you need. You are looking as bad as your internal health (physical and mental) is right now. Mainly, fix this first and then also make good food and exercise choices. Try a low dose of melatonin (3 mg), ionic magnesium drops, mega dose of D3, B-complex and Brahmi at night. This will help with sleep and stress. |
| How many lbs. have you put on, OP? |
| I am 37 and felt that I looked my absolute best at 33-34. It may be too late for some things like skin damage but it's not too late to work out. It sucks, but I have to work out 5 days a week, every week, no excuses, but it's helped me stay a size 4-6. Use anti wrinkle cream. I've used it since age 21. I eat whatever I want but I count calories. Drink lots of water and make sleep a priority. |
| You're too young to have lost your looks! You have time to pull yourself together and enjoy many more years of beauty. |
| Definitely too young to lose your looks unless you're on crack. |
|
You will look back on this time and wonder why you weren't happier with how you looked. Seriously, I used to think I was fat, and now in my mid-50's I look at photos from my 30's and 40's and realize I looked great.
Be kind to yourself and look at your positive attributes. |
