25 and 27 struggled because neither of them has an attack that’s worth a sh*t and they can’t score points.
Most of the offensive plays are initiated in the midfield - not sure why you say that about the attack or any 5th or 7th grade player - who are you? Both teams have good players and attackmen.

The worst part about this whole set of posts is that this is most likely a parent on the team who is mad about playing time or lack of or kid plays a different position. Either way, why don't you go and ask your coach? I know, they will kick you kid off the team in a minute. Instead, complain here anonymously like a coward.

As a VLC parent, I can tell you there are a bunch of people from Dulles South that have been added to the VLC family in the last few years. I'm not saying I don't want them in the family, but just because we are "related" doesn't mean I want to be associated with you. Calling out elementary school and middle school kids and saying they suck is super awesome. Great example for the kids.

It's ok Uncle Rico, your glory days are gone but by God you can make sure your son gets the team he deserves. I'm sure you are the same guy walking through the grocery store refusing to wear a face mask because Covid is just a fake liberal plot to reduce pollution by having us stay at home instead of driving to work.

The 2026 team has a heavy Dulles South influence; the 2025 less so; and 2027 practically none, so the commentary about players on the 2025 and 2027 teams cannot be blamed on Dulles South. Whomever posted those comments is a loser of the highest order, and I feel sorry for him and his son. (By the way, I am surprised the moderators let that garbage get through).

Are there actually moderators? If so, don't call for moderating and do so while you insult someone. That sort of defeats the purpose unless your aspersions are somehow ok but others not so much?

Have a day.

You obviously haven't been on this board long enough to recognize a <MDLX owner> post. Hopefully with distance-learning his kids will need the computers this next year and he'll have some downtime.

I don’t need to complain to the coach. The coach, and VLC management, knows there is a problem. (How could they not know after those teams went 0-5 the other weekend?) They are doing what they can to fix it before the remaining tournaments in August. I will be very surprised if they don’t address the problem by cutting the attack players who can’t or won’t attack after the tryouts later in a August.

VLC Parent here, tryouts are coming, nothing like a little turnover to weed out those who want it and have the skills and those who don't. Not sure why 2023's aren't having a tryout and 2026's are only having one, but clearly they must know what they are doing.

2025 did well this weekend (4-1) in the A division. But they scored few goals against two good teams, indicating their attack remains weak, for all that they clobbered three terrible teams.

2027 went 0-5 in the AA division - should have put them in A as well. Also very weak on attack.

How come this thread never mentions the VLC 2026 team? They played in the elite division this weekend and made it to the championship game against the mighty Hawks. Along the way they beat BLC.

New addition - VLC 25s scored 33 goals this weekend - and got props from refs when they held the ball rather than make an easy score before halftime - and were hitting pipes against the closely contested games. Oh and most of their opponents goals came from 1-2 middies - that hero ball will be short lived.

Because PP is desperate for attention and isn't knowledgeable on the game- 2026s are phenomenal, no question.

Have you watched these teams? I don't have a kid on them, but a lack of scoring doesn't mean the attack stinks. It very well might. But it might also mean they struggle to get the ball to their attack.

Your comment would be more insightful if it was based on observation and not guessing based on seeing scores.

Yes. 2025 has an outstanding FOGO. They usually win the F/O. But their attack still can’t put points on the board against a competent D. Way too many dropped passes for their age and experience level.

2027 has many more problems. They don’t win F/O and their stick skills are abysmal especially weak-hand passing and catching.

I am beginning to lose track of the purpose of these posts about VLC 2025 and 2027. The 2025's have strengths and weaknesses. The 2027 team is in its first year of existence, definitely has a ways to go, and (IMHO) has been placed in the wrong divisions. I do not have a son on either team, but I do know a lot of the families, and without exception, they are class acts who are supporting their sons, win or lose.

Does anybody know the agenda or issues of the poster(s) who seem overly interested in eleven year old's losing face offs' and having a weak left hand?
